"Its evil to kill people only for drugs" correct, but is it evil to shoot a drug dealer who is armed and prepared to fire? Are the police adequately trained to restrain their instinctive response and is that wise to do so? This issue is far more complicated than it appears.
When the Thai army captures the drug mules coming across the border they often just put a bullet in their head, that would probably explain the "unsolved murders".

Burma is a toilet. I know some Burmese refugees living in Thailand. They went to Thailand to earn a living. My bet is the smugglers were just trying to earn a living any way that they could. I could see taking/destroying the drugs. But killing the smugglers? No. The poor will always be the victims of those with means or position. Think about how the rest of the world portrays your country of residence right now. Every country has it's pros and cons, if you want to rank countries by level of 'evil' you would have to go far down the list before you reached Thailand. @TheWeakHuman I'm simply adding balance to your previous sweeping statement. You can't label a whole country as evil on one issue, otherwise you could label pretty much all countries that way. "Its evil to kill people only for drugs" correct, but is it evil to shoot a drug dealer who is armed and prepared to fire? Are the police adequately trained to restrain their instinctive response and is that wise to do so? This issue is far more complicated than it appears.

I got there in 2000. It was bad in Thailand. People that don't know can easily talk bad about Taksin. He did the best he could do of any politician, doing what he said that he would do. In my lifetime I have never seen a politician in the US do better. Thailand is not the US, UK or other Western country. Thailand needed something done immediately. Taksin did it. Meth is an extremely powerful STIMULANT, i.e. it keeps people alert and PREVENTS them from sleeping. Hey everybody I am a Thai american and am Bilingual in thai and english, ALL the translations this lady gives are FALSE. This girl speaks her own mind when translating for the thai people. I do not think she understands thai because in this documentary you never hear her speak it. She either has a horrible translator or likes to play guessing games with foreigh languages.... Burma is a toilet. I know some Burmese refugees living in Thailand. They went to Thailand to earn a living. My bet is the smugglers were just trying to earn a living any way that they could. I could see taking/destroying the drugs. But killing the smugglers? No. The poor will always be the victims of those with means or position. The thing is, Thailand is so corrupt, I wouldn't be surprised if the cops, after killing the smugglers, took the dope and sold it themselves.

You can legalize all drugs except one family of drugs, and that is opioids, like heroin and opium... that would be a huge mistake. If you legalize those types of drugs, the whole world will get addicted. look at china in the past, 25% of the population was addicted to opium.

Interesting subject but egocentric reporting totaly put me off. She doesn't speak Thai, but she wants to come off as she's translating... with a maximum amount of facetime. Plus a lot of the time the translation is not correct...leaving me to believe alot of the testamony has been added in for effect which discredits not only the the interviews but a lot of the valid points which are made. Sounds like nit picking but reporting should be impartial and not about Pulitzer Prizes.
