  • this is when hip hop had life , these new cats dont know

  • Back when half of underground rappers were better than most of nowadays famous "rappers".

  • Comment removed

  • The title should read DJ Polo & Kool G Rap - It's A Demo. Polo was forefront then.

  • @PrAnG2000 yes indeed. just changed it. cheers man.

  • @ruffbizness → No probs.

  • this is my favorite version of this song... : )

  • @KindredKunoichi Sorry my G. The inventor of the multi-syllabic flow was Emcee SilverFox.. G Raps mentor.

  • @mcteeosupreme → Fo reak bro. I've read G Rap say this in interviews. SilverFox had a Myspace page the last I new.

  • @PrAnG2000 look up mr.silverfox125 on youtube and you will see that mc silver fox is alive and well. 100's bruh

  • @mcteeosupreme Yeah sure, he also mentored LL Cool J so I ain't even bothered about that!! He was a huge influence, I concur, but Kool G still started something big!!!

  • @KindredKunoichi True dat!

  • I love the popping noise that vinyl employs. It's crazy authentic and ya know it's nostalgic.

  • Someone doesnt understand...its A DEMO !!

  • Marley Marl 1:16

  • Is this what started Kool G Rap's career?

  • @CoolGuy95ya he had a song in 86....Im Fly

  • @taylor4660 → That was on the flip side if I remember right. Have to check the 12"

  • fuck the times we live in take me back in time please!!

  • I have the 12" with the "no end" version that will keep playing on the turntable, how did they do that?

  • @mackvinyl → The last groove runs into itself

  • @mackvinyl → The last groove runs into itself

  • i cant help but to shake my pc desk to this lol

  • the other version is better to me

  • What is it? It's a DEMO!

  • Clyde Something Field - James Brown drums.

  • @mikeygeneral clyde stubblefield

  • funky drummer!

  • IT'S A DEMO

  • where can i find the drum loop or sampler???

  • How can ANYONE say that the new stuff is better than this?

  • dont like da original like dis 1 betta

  • Man. These rhymes are furious. The beat just amps it to another level and makes you FEEL it. And by the way; G Rap is a pioneer. He influenced countless rappers, big or small. Don't get me wrong tho, Uncle L is def. a legend and deserve his props. Jay Z? The scavenger of rap. He fed off the corpse of Big, Pac, Nas, and all other cats he stole from. He's The Ultimate Biter. He made a career from stealing.

  • @djmurderone I won't disagree with ll being called the greatest but G would give uncle L a run for his money I don't think jay could fuck with LL or G Rap

  • G Rap is not among the pioneers, neither is Jay Z. LL is the best. but u would have to have heard his freestyle tapes before he got a deal to really understand why. Plus he is still going. I think only Jay Z will be able to top him. KRS is one of my favorites two. Then big, pac, etc. Longevity has to count for something

  • i take a scene to the extreme.

to the climax and those who sleep will have a wet dream.

so dont even quote what you write as dope.

your rhymes are small time through a microscope!"

G RAP been my fav since this and men at work dropped. add the symphony to that and..smh

"my fury is scary. and if you bite you'll be leaving all your teeth for the tooth fairy.

go ahead and dare me.. if you think im joking or playing. when you feelin what im saying. you'll be kneeling and praying..."

  • KOOL G RAP. the greatest of all times.

i dont like jay-z but he consider kool g rap the greatest.

peep the line on the jay-z song - encore

"hearing me rap is like hearing G RAP in his prime... im, young H-O , raps grateful dead."

too bad these kids think hip hop started in 1994 with biggie. im insulted everytime someone say biggie or 2pac is the greatest.

always some kid making that claim who wasnt born during this era. the 80's. the golden era

  • Hip Hop excellence!!

  • ultimate banger

  • Legendary beat, legendary DJ, super legendary rapper

  • this dumb kid was making his argument for rakim that he invented multis.

not taking away from rakim the god....but thats kool g's title. period.

  • classic.

  • (C) 1989 Cold Chillin' Records

  • it isnt just a demo.its a fresh demo

  • golden years of hip hop

  • i hear its a demo then (maybe)

  • u said i suck instead i succeded....classic

  • god this takes me back...high school dayz...i used to dance my ass off this song....cause..ITS A DEMO....

    listen to that funky drummer.....goooosh!!

  • g rap can spit

  • They don't make em like this anymore

  • If you want the original, go to "Kool G Rap & DJ Polo-It's A Demo (original).

  • the original mix, the record never ends. It justs keep repeating "It's a Demo", "It's a Demo", "It's a Demo", etc, etc.

  • yes--the dub track never ends. at the end of the song, it goes "it's a demo, it's a demo...." and the needle skips across the vinyl that isn't supposed to have any grooves on it and goes almost to where the record label is on the vinyl--all while the "it's a demo" loop is maintained! that's why i love vinyl! appreciate sharing the knowledge, thegnik1972!

  • Kool G Rap has a lot of internal rhyming in the last few verses of this reissue. Did the original have the same style on the last verses? I'm asking, because Rakim is really credited with that style (which he started in '86). The original G Rap single of this also came out in 86.

  • This is the remix that was on the album. He added the last verse. Both Ra and G Rap was so far ahead of their time.

  • Cool. Thanx for the info.:) That definitely makes a lot more sense.

  • Yo anyone has the original version of this joint? This is hot of course but the original was much better.

  • word! who DID it, and where the hell IS it, cause it's a fuckin' shame it's not on here yet!

  • god i miss the golden age...of hip hop...all those funky ass james brown samples...funky drummer was the shit!! rip hip hop....kool g rap was soo hhardcore..classic. thanx for posting\

  • i wish hiphop was still like this

  • Oooo what an amaaaaazing Amen :O

  • this is not the original version. you need to find the prism album. it has im fly on the b side.

  • Word I've been looking for it for a while....the original version is classic.

  • yeah this one is really a remix

  • Real HIPHOP!

  • 10000000000000% pure, raw, authentic,in your face-ass hiphop. In your face all you newschool suckers. Hiphop don't get no better than this ol'school shit.

  • Yo!! This Had Me Making All Kinds Of Moves!!!! Just Hearing This Makes Me Think I Got A Few More Left!!! Here It Go!!!! WatchOutDeerNow!!!!!

  • This is the album version..I had the 12". The 12" was more stripped down and raw. It didn't have a bassline, only the echo guitar vamp from James Brown's 'Funky Drummer' like this one but only that...no bassline. The 12" also had the machine-gun-synth-created repeated sample 'C'mon everbody!' at the begining. And the last short verse on this version did not exist on the 12" version.

  • yeah, i recorded this from a 12", but it was a reissue. i remember the original 12" version and it was longer and more raw.

  • @ruffbizness no one goes harder than me

  • @venosf no one goes harder than me

  • iz this tha same version that came with tha Road To Ritches special edition CD?

  • i'm not sure. i ripped this from a 12" vinyl reissue on Cold Chillin (CC3506). Geah.

  • i must say your a pure legend for making this g-rap is the geatest rapper alive in my books so yeah THX! for making it

  • The special edition version should have a couple different versions of "It's A Demo" on it. I think this one is the best.
