  • Forget DLT - Eddy Grant is a Total Legend!

  • I never realised what a complete jerk he is. Loves the sound of his own voice and of course that german accent is so not funny

  • Who knew that were-wolves came from Scotland!

That announcer is suffering from the moon being full!

  • Max Gradel on vocals

  • My God Dave Lee Travis had no respect for the music whatsoever...the most annoying traiat of 60s 70s DJs...thinking that they were stars of the show.

  • @novadrian so very true

  • Dave Lee Travis is a stupid, pommy prick!! Can't stand his commentary - it's not even funny -by the standards of the day or today's standards.

  • I got so confused, when I started seeing clips of the Beat Club, again, some years ago I thought that this could not be Dave Lee Travis as it must be a German bloke who looks like him. Now it turns out that it is him according to postings here, so was he dubbed into German or does he speak German?

  • @fredmila Neither...he spoke only gibberish throughout his career as an annoying DJ.

  • DLT. Thought I was alone in thinking what a prat he was. Spoiled the beginning of so many songs on TOTPs. Met him once and he was even worse.

  • A la fête foraine place verdun à Levallois Perret en 66 ou 67 on entendait que les EQUALS,ils m'ont saoulé avec ce titre!!!

  • Cockhead!

  • Il bello gallico baby come back! Dancing the chicken!

  • Man those guys had rhythm

  • one of the songs we covered in the mid sixties. very nice.

  • great bass line.

most of the compares of that time, looked like they should have been some where else ,such as behind some bar serving overpriced drinks to pelicans ,

  • Caroline - wasn't he on ?

  • I like DLT.

  • @Standardfrank You can call it bopping or whatever you want to but it's dorky as hell, I laugh my ass off every time watch it. I watch it a few times a day because it's a guaranteed laugh!

  • I did a Google search for "Dave Lee Travis is a twat" and got over 50,000 results. Pretty much says it all.

  • TWAT! D L Travis typically ruined this fantastic track by wanting to hear his own crap. Mick C.

  • Eddy Grant and the boys ;-)

  • Proof that not all black men can dance!

  • Hahah this is awesome. Makes me wanna go back to the sixties :p

  • Hi @chinchilla12348, I'm not shy to admit I'm still there in the 60's with a juke box full of these sounds, played very loud and very often.. MickC.

  • @MickfromHooe yessss nothing to be ashamed of i agree ;)

  • esta chingona esta version jejejeej

  • Oh yeah, The Beat Club seems to have some of the best footage of shows from back then than anyone!

  • I always tripped out on this tune, never knew what the band looked like since all I had were like (blush) teeny bopper magazines, didn't see videos back then, just Ed Sullivan or shows like that. Anyhow, I adore the Pirate Shirts, totally cool!!

  • dare i say that I prefer the Pato Banton version.

  • I think we all looked dorky then. Lot of energy there, great tune!

  • Any one remember Alpine?

  • @ray123ification:

I knew him well - did some photography for him during the 80s.

    Lovely bloke.

  • Eddy Grant never looked so dorky

  • funny dancing

  • Even in German Dave Lee Travis is a complete twat

  • @jezbobb

Once a twat always a twat, but I still prefer him to Steve Wright!

  • @jezbobb No change even there then.

  • Sooooooo period and they're having fun!

  • LE PRESENTATEUR EST TROP BON !

  • joe tex does it better

  • wonerbar

  • I had forgotten this tune. Thank you SO MUCH for posting it! I loved it back then, I love it now, too!! The Good Old Days!

  • this brings back so many memories!

  • @ynyslochtyn Agree - he never knew when to shut up and let the music play!

  • Hey the attention should be on the equals not the hairy cornflake (DLT)

    Great stuff

  • Oh those monkey side burns that monitor has ... LOL

  • Warum musste Dave Lee Travis immer in die Musik reinquatschen...?

War damals bei den Briten so üblich, oder ?

  • WOW..mensch iss das "Ding" gelaufen.

    Junge..Junge.. waren wir mal jung.

  • Don't make great music like this anymore.Magic to still be able to see it through Youtube. Is that Dave Lee Travis working at the 'Beat Club" in Germany?

  • 1968 - #1 U.K., #32 U.S.!!!! Thank you for posting this Eddy Grant/Equals Timeless & still Relevant dancer - see also "Black Skin Blue Eyed Boys" as well as of course "Electric Avenue!" All classics - Happy New Year!! DAVEDJ

  • This kick ass R&B rocker should have been Alex Chilton & The Box Tops follow up to

"The Letter". Both short, and to the point. Great song, but only moderately popular.

    Enjoy!

  • I love buddy's sideboards!
