Keane was surely the better one mentally, but in terms of technique and vision I don't think he was better than Vieira. There were games in which Vieira outplayed him, otherwise Arsenal wouldn't have won games against Man U.

The cup was with France and Viera had players like Zidane and Henry. Keane was the only player in the Irish side that was world class. Viera did nothing memorable in the world cup. Keane's performance against Juventus in the champions league semi final was unparalleled.
Thats a pretty stupid line of argument. But we can agree that keane was the superior club player and viera had a more successful international career.

vieira captained his side to the euro 2000 win. Vieira captained his side to 49 unbeaten matches.. Ireland couldve done better in 2002 if Keane hadn't been such an ass and left. Point for Keane though is that he finished his career in style.. Vieira shouldn't have left arsenal, he hasnt achieved anything notable since.

I didnt mention the bench there. 67 games in 3 years is about an average of 22 league games per season, which means he has probably started in less than half of the matches that inter played. he was not the captain anymore and he has never played there like he did at arsenal.

He may not have been the legend he was at Arsenal, but he did manage to have a successful campaign afterwards, which, unfortunately, cannot be said of Arsenal.

You should ask yourself the question why Wenger didn't bring him back, because he was thinking of that option last summer.
