Actually, I think that an "unknown" actress should take the role of Anita, as well as unknown actors for the other roles.  A well-known actress/actor would distract from the character.

I love this! I think Kate Beckinsdale would make a GREAT Anita. Also, I love the voice. It's not really what I hear in my head when I read Anita, but I love the idea she has a high-pitched little girl-type voice. Makes her creepier, lol.

Ms. Beckinsale would make an awful Anita Blake. She is entirely too thin and not nearly tough enough. She did a fine job portraying a vampire in the "Underworld" movies, but I simply can not envision her as Anita.

The words need to be bigger. And the movie trailer is from Underworld. A very good movie. But in my eyes the women lead needs to shorter, long dark hair, and big breast. That actress does not look like Anita Blake to me. But all in all not bad. It just needs some work. So don't give up.

im pretty sure in the first feiw books she is discribed as a mixed race. she has an olive undertone skin. which progressed gets lighter as the series goes on. the reason i think is because of Jean-Claude being a vampire and Anita being his human servant.

She is a mixed race, but she didn't get the skin coloring. She had a hard time with family because of her pale skin. I know it was touched upon in the books. It may have said olive undertone in the first few books but she was still very pale for being part hispanic. Thats why I think someone like Selma wouldn't look right.
