@SupaSpeedStrut - I'm not certain, but I would assume that this video is comprised of multiple layers of video from different cameras at the same time from the same satellite. The cameras should have some kind of circuitry with filtering logic designed to capture frequencies of a specific spectrum of light. Each of which would have tinted lenses to protect the circuitry from spikes of radiation skewing the input data that forms the image. I'm sure that it is much more complicated than this, but
@niogel You are correct it is a composite image from the NASA Solar Dynamics Obseratory. Specifically the Atomspheric Imaging Assembly. They take many images at different wavelenghts of the light spectrum. Seeing them animated like this is really amazing at what goes on physically on the surface.
