  • @encouragerbygrace the beg is a recording of a newsreel soundtrack in Paris like a prade or something.... it says on the inside of the cassette.. if you have it? i remember reading it when i was a kid.

  • Surprising beginning and ending, like in many PSB songs. Whole different, kind of out of song, like this starts with march.

  • Pure gold!! :-)))

  • I love my Boys in catsuits...

  • @marcsealey Patsy 's boobs better. :P

  • Question...what is the beat it leads in with sounds patriotic? Does anyone know?

  • @EncouragerbyGrace

  • TragiDisco..... that's their style. takes me back, back to mid 80s.

  • my heart just sank

as if i went to a place in my heart where i was a teen again

  • Thanks for this track - this is still one of PSB's best. Even in 2011 it sounds up to date, modern, fresh and sexy - love it! Beautiful music. I remember getting the Introspective album back in '88 or '89, whenever it was....WOW. Sounds good now. Imagine what it sounded like back then, 23 years ago!!?

  • Now that's the shit I'm talkin' bout! Quality record!

  • Great song - iconic band!

  • Playing this on repeat - love it

  • Thank you for posting this 1988 dance classic - Still Relevant Today - am also an Eighth Wonder fan but this version is superior musically and for the feeling PSB give it and make it their own! DAVEDJ

  • Gay young men were bit and one of them took a bullet from a bunch of Gay Haters in São Paulo, Brazil, a few days ago. I'd like to sing this song for the boys who suffered the violence. Guys don't be scared. You'll prevail. Fight for it!

  • Thumbs up.

  • Suuuupiiiii

  • wowowowowwoowowwo!!

  • LINKPIN7: There's only three possibilities:

    1) You're Neil.

    2) You're Chris.

    3) You are the biggest fan of PSB available in YT...

    CONGRATULATIONS FOR ALL YOUR UPLOADS!!!

  • For me Introspective has perfect contrast between vocals and music.

Music positive, full of energy, lyrics quite sad and negative.

A beautiful mix, one of my favourite albums ever.

  • I still prefer Eighth Wonder's version, but PSB's wrote this first........

  • hmmmmmmm the petshop boys. just one thing to say. Amazing. thanks for the video.

  • I'm a Eighth Wonfer's fan but i didn't know the version by Pet Shop Boys, thanks for sharing :)

  • @jerrymail : actually I'm not scared is PSB production ! lyrics + music. Eight wonder was produced by PSB

  • @Dieselguy74 Actually, the Pet Shop Boys didn't write this for Eighth Wonder, just Patsy, hence their dispute with her.

  • Have loved these guys forever. Perfect pop!

  • Yes,albumversion, very-very THX! 1988!

  • Yes,albumversion, very-very THX!

  • The dancing was great when they did this in concert. I always thought it was "Oh take these darts away from me" (as in needles). I now think this is about dogs in the city ... humans.... I think I'm understanding better the many references to "dogs".

  • @NalaStash Darts LOL:)

  • I love this whole album......

  • I I were you. I f I were you I... x

  • Liking this version..

  • If i were you I wouldn't treat me the way you do!

  • Three dislikes = Three fools

  • i used to just relax and lay on my bed with this in my boom box or my walkman on cassette.i loved the introspective album, all my friends were starting to listen to rap like public enemy and 2 live crew and i always listened to pet shop boys because their music was so pleasent and neils voice was also so clear.psb have out lasted a lot of music acts from the 1980s.i hope they never go away.their music is eternal.

Thank you very much for posting

  • No, I´m not scared. I will see the light and I will continue shining, as I dance to the brilliant & timeless sound of Tennant/Lowe.

  • As the parade was passing by

You didn't stop to say Hi

You just walked away only to hide

in the parade again during that time

that so much, that show, you'd liked.

  • Thanks Linkpin7! The sound is great. All the best from a Brazilian PSB's fan

  • @TelmaCosta1

too bad brasil just lost to holland:):P

  • Love this tune patsy kensit ...take these dogs away from meeee

  • Great summer mediterranean disco intro!

  • There are so many masterpieces by Pet Shop Boys that it is out of this worldly...When I listen to this, I say yes this is their true masterpiece but the same goes for Always On My Mind, Being Boring, This must be the Place that I waited years to leave, Left To My Own Devices, Minimal, The Way It Used to be, King's Cross...oh God...

  • maravilloso...

  • great charge in this song;

    i get goosebumps

  • I feel like going to Europe right now listening to this.

  • thanks for sharing !

  • perfect!

  • This is the first DDD track I ever listened to. Lesson on how to produce a record, just brilliant !

  • dedicace a my gloire when i was at THE TOP and had ALL the galicians birds.

  • I'd forgotten just how sweet this was, truly lovely!

  • This song almost makes me cry. I always get choked up when I hear it. Beautiful.

  • "You are always telling lies and that's the only truth" ♪♫

  • Great memories!

  • Don´t know why but when i heard it first, i thought it was something about the WWII... even today, i have this feeling... strange...

  • This song reminds me of when I was 19. Having always been a night owl, I was eager for the night, so I'd go dancing and dance my blues away. New Order, Kylie Minogue, Taylor Dayne, Bananarama, Sinitta, Swing Out Sister, Technotronic, a bit of Acid House... I miss it all so bad!

  • I cannot believe there were people like me at that time, I was 15 but I was developing to be a night owl myself and listening to all new order great groups but it was Instrospective my first album that got me sucked in completely into PSB. Thank you for making me recall my adolescence

  • @MrStuckinthe70s Stop............you're gonna make me cry! I still listen to all of the artists that you mentioned and still love it like it was 25 years ago. If people accuse me of living in the past, fine; it's a hell of a lot better than current times.

  • Dear Simon5005,

So do I. At least we both have great things to remember. Don't cry. Always let those songs set you up. I forgot to mention Rick Astley and Sonia. Take care.

  • @Simon5005 my thoughts exactly

  • Perfect....

  • "Esta música tem personalidade forte. Me identifico muito com ela. Náo tenho medo de nada."

  • grandissima canzone, vecchi ricordi ma sempre nuove emozioni!!

  • I love this song by the pet shop boys

  • Reminds me of my days of youth, somehow the song captured my feeling of sadness, style and desperation! A beautiful melody, real composion, great symphonic dance, inspirational, grand and fine.

  • If I was you, if I was you

I wouldn't treat me the way you do ):

  • PATSY KENSIT ROX MY SOX!

  • you're always telling lies and that's the only truth...tonight the streets are full of actors...oh, take these dogs away from me...before they...they bite...what have you got to hide...who will it compromise...I'd go anywhere...I don't care...baby...I'm not scared...

  • The best PSB song ever. Period.

  • CLASSIC!!!!!!!!

  • What a great mix! Maybe the best PSB song ever.

  • I love this song!!!

  • I m not scared from Pet Shop´s music, i like so much!!

  • Thanks for posting this jewell...

anybody know if it was soundtrack of some film ?

  • 1000ç% exelente..musicA!!!

  • This is quite possibly the ultimate PSB song. From 4:13 when they pick the tune up again and right through the repeated chorus has always been one of the most euphoric moments in pop for me.

  • The strings in the beginning and at 4:13 sound so sad to me. I bought this cd in October 1988 when it came out. It reminds me of a better time in music. Chris said one time that he likes "sad" dance music---well, this is it.

  • you are so right. the psb where always the cream of all....love em.

  • I agree with you 100%. If any one PSB song is a masterpiece then this is probaly it.

  • I totally agree!

  • @walkure8

There are so many PSB masterpiece songs especially from the 80's. They are the pioneers of synthpop and the main reason I got into synthesizers. I am 32 (the same age Niel Tennant was in the mid 80's)...and I feel their music still kicks ass of all the modern artists today.

Please, Actually, Introspective and all the extended dance remixes are my history. Only PSB can have such amazing extended remixes. Most other artists in the 80's made cheesy remixes.

  • I had the introspective album and the intro was sampled from a documentary sound of an event from 1968.

  • Can anybody tell me please what the name of the music in the intro?? Is it a kind of martial march? Please tell me if you know.

    Thanks in advance

  • Its the French national anthem !!

  • released 1988, from the album Introspective

  • I LOVES ME THE PET SHOP BOYS! (Call me, Neil!)

  • The intro part is particularly out of the world. Thanks for posting.

  • Ahhh fuck man what a sexxxy song, Linkpin7 ~ thanks buddy

  • Hehe. Well, thank you mate. =P

  • one of my fav psb track.superb.
