Wow, this is one of the best songs ever. What a fabulous album from a favorite time in my life--high school to college. Carly is one of my all-time faves--still after all these years. This album is probably my very favorite of all. Thanks for sharing!!

at 2:22 it gets very dreamy and polished. she was born into money but still had lots of talent.

from about 1970 to 1990 she put out lots of good music.

I feel this is the greatest record ever done in this particular genre. It is close to 40 yrs old and it's still as fresh as it was the time of it's release in 1972. The compositions were brillantly song and played by all the musicians involved. Truly a beautiful record that will stand the test of time for decades to come.

This song brings back a special time, and special person in my life...in fact I was giving this song (album back when) and told to "think about it"..at that time I was into my self. I've loved this song since I was a kid, along with You're so Vain...

'...the water was cold, the beach was empty but for one... then some child came; you never asked for her to come. She drank a pint of your rum. And later when you told me, you said she was a bore...' That is just so well written, so full of implicit meaning and pain. This, like every other song on this masterpiece of an album is a testament to Carly Simon's immense talent, wit, sensitivity and beauty. One of a kind.

I had the pleasure of meeting Carly 20 years ago and has been a good friend since then... Carly is very shy in person, but when she sits behind the piano, she's totally different!!!! Her music is fresh, raw, and very entertaining....this is one of my fav songs she sings.....Carly is very talented....

There aren't many celebrities I'd care to meet (and I've met and know a few myself as it is) but Carly Simon is absolutely one I would like to talk to. She comes across exactly as you described her--shy but extremely intelligent and sensitive. I hope she realizes how much joy and insight she's brought to so many people with her creativity. The compostions brillantly delivered by Ms. Simon are truly special. I remember when this record first came out as my sister had it and we were actually talking about it earliar this evening and I mentioned that even though it has been nearly 40 yrs since it's release it still sounds fresh today. A wonderful record, memories.
