my grandpa told me about him using the M50 Reising in the South Pacific with his stint in Evans F. Carlson's Marine Raiders. way to go re-enactors, do whatcha do!
I've been on previous cruises and these reenactors really add much to the program!
The American Victory is sailing again on Sat. Nov.8 for her Salute to Veterans cruise --there aer som many interesting things to do during the cruise.
the few vietnam i've spoken to about the m16 all said it was a piece of junk that was always jamming, it's funny how that even comes across in this video.. check out weapons wednesday at libertytreeradioDOT4mgDOTcom
If the m-16 is shooting blanks there would be a blank adapter screwed into the flash supressor, duh! If it is shooting live rounds it would jam also, duh! Watch the shooter kick away spent shells on the deck. That means that even with blanks there are ejections, dumb-fuck! Have you ever seen a blank round? It is a 5.56 shell with the neck crimped, duh! I've fired live 5.56 rounds full auto, there is very little recoil Tophlang.
A BFA that screws into a flash suppressor are the big goofy square ones that are yellow or red, used by us now...the more "aftermarket" stuff screws directly into the barrel, having nothing to do with the flash suppressor.
The lack of muzzle discipline by these clowns is pathetic. If a weapon had discharged off the steel deck or if someone had an AD there would be a lawsuit. Who finds these a-holes to do this stuff?
correction...they jam WAY worse...ESPECIALLY the M16 blanks because many of the reenactors use the cinema HOT blanks, as opposed to the GI blanks. Cinema blanks are WAAAAAY louder than even live rounds going off...because they are packed with way more powder, meaning the weapon heats up quicker, and, more importantly, the weapon gets that much more carbon that much quicker...meaning it gums up quicker.
I was one of the assholes, dude...seriously...now where in the hell was I supposed to point my 1903 OTHER than up? There were hundreds of spectators all around me?
May I remind you that there were crowd control people all over the place keeping everyone far away from us, and the angle of the camera really does an injustice to the muzzle awareness.
One question, were they using live ammo? I could see them using either because their out at sea and there's no real danger of injuring someone who's "down range" but there are people in front of the firing line.
yeah- the thing would chamber a round, fire it, then when the bolt pulled back to extract, the empty case wouldn't extract and would get "stuck". the bolt would then "jump" the rim of the case and try to chamber a new round, jamming the rifle. the only way to fix it is to take the mag out, lock the bolt back, shake the thing free, then use a cleaning rod to clear the stuck case.
It would of been nice if you could of done some editing to get rid of the engine noise and let me actualy hear the guy or smoething. i suggest donig that then reposting it
cool

HAHAHAHA!!! THIS IS ME! Hahaha! I am the first one firing.
kingco15thinf 3 years ago
how can you make them fire with blanks with no modification? sure they were blanks?
Belva1 3 years ago
Thats a BAR fired on "slow", and an unmodified M1919. The BAR and the M14 are unusually excellent weapons IMHO.
The M50 was a suprise to see, not very common to the era, too bad they didn't have a Johnson!
OPE08 3 years ago
They are jamming because blanks can be difficult to cycle.
There are no visible blank adapters. They are using "Hollywood" adapters, which are built into the muzzle devices (of the M14 and M16).
The M16 is highly reliable, if it's cleaned regularly and fed only clean ammo.
LilOsama6 3 years ago
the m16 is highly accurate but eugene stonner did not make it very reliable.
jmk0309 4 years ago
its actually very reliable now since vietnam was a long time ago.

What you want to do is have a situation where you're stepping over lines and lecturing to a crowd and operating a weapon.
That's what you want to do.

Self explanatory, douchebag. If you pointed it up-you were safe. So, why are you arguing with me? Watch the others in the video.

they were blanks retard, Blanks = NO RECOIL.. no recoil = NO BRASS GETTING EJECTED OUT OF THE RECIEVER, it is like that for ALL weapons
