I heard Palestinians were adapting to blockades of fuels firstly gas then vegetable oil. one of the guy, a Palestinian electronics engineering lecturer came up with a cheap way to convert a small gas car to electric driven that only costs one or two thousand dollars to implement(might depend on where you live...in the world..hmmm)...end result, very cheap running costs...I'm sure the clips and articles are somewhere on the web...maybe try and find the guy and ask for his blueprints

A conservative approach is: increasing our supply. Common sense, isn't it? How to increase our supply: get our own oil from Alaska+ off the coast of FL. Also build more clean, safe nuclear energy plants. These 2 things will lower the price and end foreign dependency.

Gas prices are never coming down though. It doesn't matter who is in office.

The long term trend is that in 2 years, we'll be paying more. In 5 years, we'll be paying more. In 10 years, we'll be paying more.

The only thing that could lower price (for say a few years), would be a huge conservation campaign like we had after the oil shocks of the 70's.

But, if OPEC decided that $200/barrel was the price to stay at, they could always decrease exports.

No one can fix gas prices.
