she had cancer 6 years ago, thats not recent, and she had chrohns wen she was singing at her peak, it did no damage then!

That doesn't matter. The chemotherapy and or radiation that she may have undergone can deteriorate the voice, we don't know when the cancer went into remission and when she had chemo or radiation. BOTH destroy cells potentially throughout the body so it's not uncommon for coughs and/or vocal damage to occur. Another thing, the crohn's, is tpically treated with steroids. Steroids take a while to do some damage, and that damage might be showing up now :)
