  • flawless spin

  • stanford isnt ivy league

  • whatever pays for college!

  • Actually her parents are paying for college as Brown doesn't give athletic scholarships.

  • really? didn't know that.

  • Yep, I read it in an article/interview. I believe it was on NBC's olympic site but I could be mistaken. She was offered a full ride to UCLA but turned it down because she didn't want to switch coaches so close to the olympic games; she also wanted to stay close to home.

  • ivy league colleges don't offer athletic scholarships

  • Well, they give their athletic scholarships through academic money to get the athletes they want while beating the system.

  • Completely true, Rytent, they may not give out scholarships labeled "athletic" but they find ways of throwing money at their Varsity athletes. It's also easier to get into the Ivies if you have Varsity potential even if you are lacking in academics (not dissing Alicia, I have no idea about her intellectual ability; just saying don't be fooled by mission statements)

  • It's interesting to watch a world class gymnast perform such a watered down routine. She could probably do that with her eyes closed.

  • omg i agree...wat was up with the mount...i did that in my first yr of gym...she could do much better

  • why do more when you dont have to

at the college level why risk an injury

when you are training for the olympics..

humm impress people at my college competition or go to the olympics??? lol

  • i don't think "taking it easy" is in her vocabulary lol. she is such a badass!

  • @brianthebraincell - Unless of course it's bars. lol jk

  • i think its nice. i mean shes still doing elite so why not have college as kinda a little break. if you get what i mean. why preform world class when you dont have to? sometimes it doesnt help. its better to take it easy.

  • it helps watering down when u have the leighway to do so. it allows u to take a few steps back to polish what would essentially be ignored in a more competetive atmosphere.
