  • This is definitely Newburgh. I've been through there plenty of times.

  • What was once in that abandoned building in the background?

  • very nice video

  • The location of this video is neither Newburgh or Cornwall - it is New Windsor, NY.

  • You are right 100%. I'm not from that area and ended up there quite by accident. But I do remember seeing a sign that it was New Windsor, NY which was a beautiful ride up and a very nice area. Also all the people we met going out to eat and at stops were very nice.

  • You know how it works. It was about 3pm but so overcast that on the way home it really rained hard. This train was sitting on the siding a mile down while another train that I took photos of (on my web site under Trains Along The Hudson - Newburgh) passed us. Then he started North and we got this video. Great day! You can hear my wife Carol in the video shocked at how long the train was.

  • That was the longest train I ever seen. Good vid

  • Check out my YouTube Channel for other train videos. I work next to the tracks on the River Line in Bergenfield, NJ. I take videos all the time out back.

  • Those trash container stacks half way through the videos, I don't see those anymore on NS, maybe outlawed? I see the big single containers now, but I likes the stacks. Anyway, cool video!

  • Even though they stunk up the area when they came through, it was worth it just by watching them come through.

  • When they were rerouted bow the old C&O last year, we did not think as to how long those things were. I know of at least one that I saw that had to be a good two and a half miles in length.

  • My wife Carol is always suprised at how long some trains are.

  • q434, formerly conrail OISE, oak island nj to selkirk ny

  • This one was the shorter of the two trains that passed us that day. The other one I just took photos of.

  • cant believe just how long that train was - must have been over 2 miles long-incredible!

  • All my video's are shot and posted on the same day. It's a fun hobby for us and I love to share them with others. You can see the still photos on our Photosite (over 6,00 photos posted) at Skyandtrains. com (just delete the space between the dot and com) Go to the Album "Trains Along The Hudson" and choose the Newburgh, NY Chapter. (YouTube won't let me post a link)

  • Of note - the large warehouse type building is the former local/regional home of RJ Corman's (the Derailment Specialists).

Good to see you stumbled upon a good location! Hows about posing the date this was shot.

  • Looks like that train had a lot of garbage to haul out. I've always found EPIC containers fascinating.

  • I must say that it stunk going by. Mike
