Why are you assuming that "begat" can only have one meaning in the bible, just because you see it as such in Genesis? Why do they HAVE to mean the same? They were written a millennia apart. If you can acknowledge that begat has two meanings (which u have), then it is your limited grasp on English and your haste to ASSUME John's "begat" has exactly the same meaning, that has you confused. This is no longer a theological debate, rather a debate on primary school standard English principles.

Peter should have taken the name Simon back after how he behaved. He wasn't a rock for Jesus. He denied Him thrice, he didn't believe Mary when told the tomb was empty. He even had to go see the tomb for himself and still didn't tell the other apostles that Mary had told the truth. approx 30 books or more were not allowed entrance to the bible set. Some of them were clearly denied by the early church fathers, for going out of the context of Christian doctrine. What you must be careful that not every books are true, some indeed purportedly made up by writers that had no direct context of Jesus teaching at all. Most people I know who attend church just go for a gossip, to catch up with people. My neighbours are Christians and every Halloween they close the curtains, turn the lights out and refuse to answer their door to kids who come round, kids they know, just 2 or 3 kids who live in the local area, small community here, Christians!!!!!!!??? it makes me sick to the stomach. Now, for the dictionary definition- Do you see the numbers "1" and "2"? That means there are TWO definitions of the word. So the word DOES mean to sire, and it DOES mean to cause existence. This SEEMS to be a paradox, but it is an accepted part of Christian theology. So why then, cant this apply to the Trinity? The key error that has been made in the NT is the chronology. The date was actually AD70 and this great revolutionary struggle was actually a story about the Jewish Civil War. See that, and the whole thing begins to make sense, for Jesus was actually a prince who was trying to regain the throne of Judaea, and perhaps of Rome too.

Ken Wilber and others use the model of three-in-one. causal body (Godhead), subtle body (spiritual energy), and gross body (manifested world). You can view it like a bull's eye: the innermost circle is Godhead, the next one out is Spirit, the outermost ring is the gross, material level. One might say the "son" contained all three as we do, but he seems to have been aware of all of them and manifested this awareness in his activity.

@the11thRose I agree. In the east there is a similar expression, but better stated in Christian terms. In Buddhism, Emptiness or Silence is the foundation, like Godhead. Formed creation comes out from it, but is not separate from it. Maybe the energetic bridge between silence and form is "chi." Pure spiritual energy. Chi is I think similar to the Holy Spirit.
