Why are you assuming that "begat" can only have one meaning in the bible, just because you see it as such in Genesis? Why do they HAVE to mean the same? They were written a millennia apart. If you can acknowledge that begat has two meanings (which u have), then it is your limited grasp on English and your haste to ASSUME John's "begat" has exactly the same meaning, that has you confused. This is no longer a theological debate, rather a debate on primary school standard English principles.

approx 30 books or more were not allowed entrance to the bible set. Some of them were clearly denied by the early church fathers, for going out of the context of Christian doctrine. What you must be careful that not every books are true, some indeed purportedly made up by writers that had no direct context of Jesus teaching at all. Most people I know who attend church just go for a gossip, to catch up with people. Why are you assuming that "begat" can only have one meaning in the bible, just because you see it as such in Genesis? Why do they HAVE to mean the same? They were written a millennia apart. If you can acknowledge that begat has two meanings (which u have), then it is your limited grasp on English and your haste to ASSUME John's "begat" has exactly the same meaning, that has you confused. Now, for the dictionary definition- Do you see the numbers "1" and "2"? That means there are TWO definitions of the word. So the word DOES mean to sire, and it DOES mean to cause existence. I hope you take the time to look it up, you will notice sex is not part of the def. That seems to be YOUR def. No one else's.

Now, surely there are similar mysteries in the Koran that seems just as ambiguous, without the need to twist in order to make sense of? The Sun/Son thing is something else. Jesus is not half human and half divine to make one whole entity. He is both FULLY human and FULLY divine to make a whole entity. This SEEMS to be a paradox, but it is an accepted part of Christian theology. So why then, cant this apply to the Trinity? Not everything has to make perfect mathematical sense in order for it to be real, quantum physics has shown us that.

The key error that has been made in the NT is the chronology. The date was actually AD70 and this great revolutionary struggle was actually a story about the Jewish Civil War. See that, and the whole thing begins to make sense, for Jesus was actually a prince who was trying to regain the throne of Judaea, and perhaps of Rome too.

Ken Wilber and others use the model of three-in-one. causal body (Godhead), subtle body (spiritual energy), and gross body (manifested world). You can view it like a bull's eye: the innermost circle is Godhead, the next one out is Spirit, the outermost ring is the gross, material level. One might say the "son" contained all three as we do, but he seems to have been aware of all of them and manifested this awareness in his activity.

@the11thRose I agree. In the east there is a similar expression, but better stated in Christian terms. In Buddhism, Emptiness or Silence is the foundation, like Godhead. Formed creation comes out from it, but is not separate from it. Maybe the energetic bridge between silence and form is "chi." Pure spiritual energy. Chi is I think similar to the Holy Spirit.

Am I actually supposed to believe Jesus was not who He said He was because of one fragment of papyri? As opposed to the 24,000+ manuscripts of the New Testament that say He IS who He claims to be? Come on folks, look at the evidence. At the end of the video they mention how Jesus wouldn't let Mary touch him, and that was proof they touched before (a.k.a special romance or some crap), which is a totally ridiculous conclusion to come to. Many of the scrolls that were found weren't discovered by clergymen or even Christians, so I think your skepticism is way over the top. It also just sounds like you have more of an emotional argument that stems from conspiracy theories about religion. This is known, but the original Gnostic sect of Christianity was over shadowed by the emperor Constantine creating and canonizing the current text. @theQuickShop The Bible isn't meant to be holy, we as a primitive civilization regard it as holy because it's knowledge was vast. It is meant as a guideline for our lives (the original one, anyway). The New American and St. James versions have been tampered with to control population ( no sex before marriage and whatnot). Marriage is the copulation of man and woman, a beautiful event.
