Im getting a 01 Grand am gt and thats the only thing that turns me off about the car is the exhaust... there are few v6 cars that sound great.... any companies exhaust dosnt make this engine sound cool... i guess being around foxbody stangs with flowmasters and 540i's with remus exhausts makes a diffrent spectrum in my liking. but ill love the car regardless! gonna dump some cash into this car make it cool lol.

I did a flowmaster on my 04 Alero GLS coupe;

flowmaster super 80 w/ tennese tips and resonator delete. Just installed a cold air and custom painted 01 GA GT mirrors. Sounds great with the Super 80

Because it's a Grand AM, not a Grand Prix. They didn't have the 3800 as an available engine on this car.

That is a 3 piece K&N, one piece coming off the throttle body, a bent pipe that relocates into the fenderwell, and then another piece that connects to the air filter. It is a very tight fit.

Yes the resonator is on there still, if you take that off i am sure that it will add to the loudness level quite a bit. I am not displeased with how loud it is, its just loud enough to get you noticed, but not so loud that it becomes obnoxious. And Ricersgetshot07, it is a stage 3 intake from Doctor Speed.

Soccerguy3114 has a video of his grand am GT with a flowmaster 80 and no resonator. You might consider checking out his video in addition to this one to get a feel for how it sounds with and without the resonator. IMO, I think it sounds much better without a resonator, but Its your car, so its your call. :)

For whoever was wondering, the tail lights that I purchased were from PFYC. Most stuff that I have done to my car comes from that website or Customgrandam. And HighIntensityRT, I never said that my car was fast. I'm sure whatever you have would burn it. But I made this video for all the folks that are fortunate/unfortunate enough to own a grand am and want ideas to improve their cars.

I have a 96 Grand Am GT myself, fun little car. Sure its not as fast as some but its got a kick to it. I've got the small 2.4L Quad 4, but I still manage to keep up with the pack, Burnouts are a little difficult to do with FWD cars such as these need a bit more torque to get it to really go.

its 175 however with the lower weight the hp to weight comes out to be the same and with a small amount of modding it can easily push well over 200hp

No, it's definitely not that fast, but it still blows away most Hondas and that's all I ever see in the town I live in. but yeah, I just have a new muffler and new tips, and I bought it all at a local shop. All of it including installation cost me 300 dollars.
