@seppukuification925 Please don't let this become a comment fight, there's really no need. I'm sure he knew it was Requiem for a Dream, and obviously you do too. Instead of fighting you could discuss your love for the music from that movie. I know I love it.
its ok people the louder the music means that you should concentrate. i know the music is loud but this is all we have to work with. trust me ,i feel you all.
Requiem for a Dream, or Lux Aeterna, is indeed a beautiful song, but please it gets too loud. A come here for wisdom, and though my first realized experienced of nirvana was to this song, I would like to hear clearly the words of Alan W. Watts, who enlightened me about the wisdom of the east, in comparison to our way of thinking, and in so doing helping me realize my own basic assumptions and become wiser in the process.
If you think understanding is about words, you were not listening, regardless of whether you could hear it.
Understanding is an aesthetic experience. Its a synchronicity that everyone is all hung up on clarity and control with this video. You want structure, right?
Listen again. And again. You'll get it. I hope so. Nature is wiggly: clouds and water. You keep trying to figure it out. -- I am a Gooey Prickle, myself.
The music was good but rather loud. I loved the footage of the sped up traffic and city though. It shows the how hyper our society is, always on the move.
I'll repeat a common complaint on this video. At times the music is louder than the dude talking. REally fucking irritating. Pretty retarded, amigo. :PPP
Thanks for all of these posts man, the music fits, those who complain should not even be listening to this yet, they need to evolve a little first maybe? thanks ;)
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes; who guards the guards
He's trying to get people to look at so-called reality from a different angles because many of us are stuck believing we really know "Reality" when what we know is an image of it.
We learn and are taught (and also, as specific forms with specific built-in "filtering biases" we are thus limited. Our perceptions are based on animal-like sensation of Reality ... ie, being mobile animals brings with it the very core attributes which make "us" believe we are separate from our environments).
please. if someone is going to post intelectual speaking. DONT dubb it with music. its irritating. not the music. the music is great. but both combined.
hehe, this is just a random observation but seeing the scene at 5:57 made me think of a bunch of plant pac-men. At this moment it seems quite funny to me but also quite interesting that a video game that had the sole point of gobbling up all the dots is like the ultimate symbol of some sort of consumerism. Now to have these green pac-man-like plants floating in the water is a very cool contrast. Perhaps there is hope for us if even this ultimate gobbler can alter it's ways ... hahaha!
IMO, I thought it was a cool video. I found it to be quite interesting. At no point did I find the music annoying or too loud to hear what he was saying. It seems the thoughts on the music seem to be polarized. Interesting!
They come to a state of mind where they think u are ego driven, which infact makes them think something negative and makes them care about something u probably care less of, or atleast i hope u do.
Please post a version of this wonderful Alan Watts lecture without the dreadful, horribly overused, music in the background. The music ruins his words.
To all the well-meaning people who post these types of videos: we appreciate that you want to embellish the voice with music, but please, for the love of God, let the voice speak LOUDEST. Thank you!
I like the composition of the video to what Watts is talking about. Especially the scene where he's talking about 'scanning' and spotlights, and you have the planes landing at night. Very cool.
this music happens too much---but this version is better than what i've heard---there's a horrible video up right now on the top watched page of the poor dead football/soccer player --with this music - did you put these images together? beautiful.
i borrow a lot of the video from others and just clip it together; i don't usually give credit, but then I don't take any myself! I am running out of music to use for these... i need to get some new CDs!
Why is somebody talking while the music is playing? THE MUSIC IS NOT LOUD ENOUGH!

you right more people ask
for less music,
say you think demand
for less music would come through,
but i understand alan watts and his thoughts on music,
but music can work up emotions
that can cloud thought,
on the other side listening could more important then
thought.

great job on the video, the song fits well. gives his words a flow like a river. a background to whats in top.
people dont really listen to lyrics anymore. so its hard to listen to a lecture with music under and i understand that, but people need to relax.
and there is no ego behind wut u do so they need to relax.
