As a kid I always wondered exactly what they were trying to accomplish in the intro, always figured TJ's nod was to start some elaborate scheme to achieve...a ball. Ah, youth.
I so grew up on this show and Hey Arnold! When I was in like, second grade, I wanted so bad to be in 4th grade, because the characters from both shows were, and it seemed like so much fun. Actually, 4th grade was fun! I got to go to camp, yeaaah! I miss my late 90's-early 00's childhood :')
Who remembers one saturday morning? I use to wake up super early around 5 o clock in the morning to watch this and all the other shows that came on that day. lolz That was the life. Now the cartoons now are garbage. smdh. I'm 19 now
It's So Random how drastically disney's changed, adding cheesy tween shows left
and right to replace our cartoons and Shake Up our Suite Life.. if you think you're gonna have the same fun childhood i did in the 90's, well, Good Luck Charlie
DRIIING doom dum ding dam doom dummmmm doodoo ne nenenene ne ne ne nenenene DOODOO ne nenenene ne ne ne nenenene DOODOO dee da doot da, da dee da doo doo daaa
I miss Recess. I used to watch it all the time when I was little. I always wanted epic recesses like the ones on this show at my school. Oh good times.
oh and wow lol, in 8th grade i got my 1st car :D a '87 fiat uno.. actually i got it when starting 9th grade lol, but in 4th grade i love a brown Mitsubishi Lancer the most.
lolz I remember this one episode when Randall said to Ms. Finster, "Ms Finster, Ms Finster, there's leaves on the front lawn" haha..I also liked when TJ was in "the box"
When I was young and watched this I though Miss Finster looked just like my Kindergarten teacher. My dad even called her "Mrs. Smith" which was her name.
@Skullkid12349 i think you're talking about Night of the Living Finsters. They find a bunch of zombie ancestors of Ms. Finster in one of the Digger's holes. And if that is what you mean it's from an episode called the Terrifying Tales of Recess :) hope this helped.
@BAWK0 i will not stop watching it because you told me to. it is a great show. i will not stop using the word "kid." don't you dare tell me to shut the fuck up. you're the one who needs to shut the fuck up and leave us alone. you should get off the internet once and for all, recess hater!
Ahhh recess, I always rushed to the tv when it came on. I still remembered when Randall screamed in the intro, so at 0:26 I'm like "wait for the scream...there it is" It wasn't until recently that I realized that Randall looks like Moe from the Simpsons
I remember watching Recess when I was 8 years old. I use to turn to channel 121 on my cablevision service and watch the entire thing. And sooner or later, I got interested in this in no time. Sadly, I didn't even see this since 2005.
(born in 1997) I honestly did not like this show very much back then, but now with complete crap on shows on not just disney but nick and CN ( i watch mostly comedy central now) this show seems hellova lot better
I didn't like this show when I was little, but i would always watch it if nothing else was on. Now I would rather watch this a MILLION times over what they have on T.V today.
The hustler kid that was always selling stuff from inside his jacket was my favorite. I would often wondered "How does he carry it all? Doesn't his jacket get heavy? Where can I find a jacket like that? I wonder what else he sells?"
The bad thing is that I was 15 or 16 years old when this cartoon first aired on ABC One Saturday Morning. Since I had to go places on Saturdays, I would always find myself watching Pepper Ann, Recess, The weekenders, and so on. My favorite segment was and still is the Genie from Aladdin with the "Great Minds think alike, no, great minds think for themselves." CLASSIC!
I remember how me and my sister watched this every evening and laughed our asses off at this intro. I don't know what happened, but they gotta bring da old cartoons back.
Really is an Awesome show. Haven't seen it in ages (Ben10 and similar crap have taken over kids TV nowadays) but if I ever caught it on TV, it would instantly make my day!!!
I remember I use to come home after school and go to my nanny's home and watch this. I'd make sure I'd get there on time to be able to watch at least an hour of this show. The movie was by far EPIC as well.
This has to be one of the most memorable cartoon intros!
The music is catchy as hell, it gives you a little idea of what some of the characters are like, and that shot of Miss Finster and T.J. at 0:57 is one that always makes me laugh!
The great thing about this show was that the playground functioned in a way like how the adult world does. Disney, Nick and Cartoon Network get in you time machines and go back and take notes. I know you have one
