old EVH that is, EVH is still godly but he has made alot of screwups this tour in 2008, but when i saw em at this concert (October 12 2007) no mistakes at all but still he still is good but old EVH was the god of gods

for someone who loves van halen so much you should know that nuno bettencourt was in extreme. and nuno can play circles around evh. that is saying a lot. paul gilbert is also awesome he was in racer x. he too, can play circles around EVH.

I bet if you ask Paul and Nuno they would tell you EVH was one of their biggest influences and without him they wouldn't be the players they are now....and they would never say they could "play circles" around EVH..Eddie is the single most influential rock guitarist alive bar none..

Bring back Michael Anthony, and it truly will be VAN HALEN!!!!! Eddie is great, but he does like to cheat his sound with effects, and guitar pedals... I hear Wolfgang has no stage presence.. It must be easy to make it in the music business if your daddy is Eddie Van Halen. The rest of us have to work at it!!!!

I admit Paul Gilbert is good but it seems like all he does is repeat scales. Eddie has alot more soul and skill. Paul Gilbert just doesn't stand up to the mighty eddie.

Paul Gilbert is very good and is one of my many guitar influences.. however, Eddie Van Halen is a legend and always will be. Don't ever knock the greats.
