This is one of those marvelous personal adventure compilations one can move through with gainful ease and childlike knowing. So much of what is available in the Markawasi Stone Forest is frame of reference dependent and yet Ms. Doore's account includes the many faces and forms that have long ignited and inflamed the mindfulness of those who venture upon the shoulder of that land. The personal accounts by contributors put the story of this incredible place into much perspective. Well done!
I spent several days there and I guess some seem man made and others, well...... I know one thing that the place is freaky and I higly recommend it. Just the road up and the 12,000 foot look down the valley from the top mountain is insane Have Fun
LOL, Ive been there and these are natural formations. I could take a profile shot of my ass and show you "proof" that an ancient Pharoah is carved into my body.
this place is not tiawanacu this one is north of Lima, Peru. Enigmatic for sure and a lot of magnetism you'll find on top of the mountain where the stones are located .
I've been recovering artifacts from my site in the Mojave Desert that have been linked to Tiwanaku in Bolivia. The method of information storage in the paleolithic era is in some ways, much more sophistecated than now. Modern folks have a tough time grasping the concept that multiple layers of data can be encoded and retrieved by those skilled in the art of reading stone. From what I can tell, the world prior to the time the comets that struck North America 12,000 yrs ago was very different.
Lo mas sorprendente es que aqui en España he encontrado esculturas similares que desafian la logica humana. Creo que fue una misteriosa cultura que se dio en todo el mundo, la relaciono con la epoca megalitica.
Interesting that you should ask. We brought a geologist there in late 2005. We are now completing a new film about that adventure. He said that although he could see no signs of working by tools, etc. it was so old (lichen on fresh parts) that any marks might have been eroded. But in the end, he thought the rocks might have eroded naturally, but he also marveled at all the figures which he could readily recognize. The place, he commented, is one of the world's most amazing.

fools!.....You've all been had. Peruvian masons did all these as markings of their favorite retreat spot. You should all have heard how hard they laughed when people took thi seriously.
