  • Also, the 12,7mm machine gun on the top is a M2 Browning disguised in a DShK.

  • After university I am not sure what I believe... Priceless

  • i liked this movie until some where in the second half in a chasing scene, i saw the camera crew's car shadow also chasing the soldiers

  • a great movie, the best war movie ever made

  • Capital Films are so stupid!

  • Is that a t 62 or an upgaded t 55? Looks like a t55 tho

  • See ya,il go to play arma 2 now,and take t-55 :D

  • Glad to see some russian fags complaining about this movie because it messes up their image.....

9th company is pure propaganda crap and a cheap one also....

  • @MirceaBv

    Hahaha! Nice comment, and true.

  • @MirceaBv Russians have image of baddasses.... i dont see how this cheap american halfassed propaganda film makes it any damaging to heroic russian standing. Second 9th company is a true story buddy.

  • The aspect ratio is all fux0red. That tank looks silly.

  • @DeafFret Why`s that? That`s a real tank.

  • Most idiotic movie about war I ever see. People, u better watch "9th company" - if u want to see real movie about Afghanistan War.

  • @IIKainII1 I agree!!!! But the best movie about Soviet invasion of Afghanistan is "Афганский излом", "Afganskiy Izlom" Much better than this shit!!!!!

  • If this is propaganda, so is every other war movie. theres always a side to a story.

  • love this whole movie, this scene, the music, the futility of war!!!!

  • Awaysome even better than ArmA2 Operation Arrowhead! 10x

  • The movie has a lot of propaganda...BUT, i just love the way it makes me feel that pain of the modern machine in that hostile and primitive land. The failures of the machines increase with the collapse of the characters...

  • Propaganda film.

  • Great movie

  • I seen this in the theatre' , then I bought it on VHS !!!! , I loved this movie , who knew ? LOL , I think it's a cult classic !!! nobody has this on the shelves anymore !!!

  • NOW THIS is a Mastermovie , this is a must see!!

  • The tanks IS a T-55 bought from the Israelis. They had re-gunned the tank with a 105mm cannon, this is why a lot of people think it is a T-62.

  • @legodragonxp A T-62 IS a T-55, with a larger 115mm gun. The Israelis took a T-62 and downgraded it to 105mm (no idea why), and called it a Tiran 6. You can tell that it's a T-62 because of the long as shit gun with a muzzle break in it. The T-55 had no muzzle break. If you want to see the exact tank in the movie, look up the Tiran 6.

  • @blah666ful It also explains why the tank has a turret mounted machine gun (those were phased out on the Soviet versions), why the main gun has more sophisticated sights, and why the turret has no Soviet markings.

  • @blah666ful Interesting, I'll have to look in to it. I would hazard a guess that the 105 was put in for ammo commonality with the US tanks that they had.

  • @legodragonxp If you look up the wiki on the Tiran 6, you'll see a photo of one that's identical to that tank. I'd link it for you, but it's youtube.

  • The best thing of this movie is that the "Russians" DID NOT speak with English with Russian accents. That always pisses me of when movies do that; non-English speakers don't speak accented English to each other all of the time. Sure, if it were in Russian with subtitles, it'd be better, but, hey, it's an American film. If they speak straight English, we English speakers can identify with them and pretend we're listening in Russian.

  • ...dude... yea, way to state the obvious.. It's an american film.

  • @barkon Exactly. I find that when I watch a movie about foreigners, I actually identify with them more if they speak like I do. I don't focus on the accent and I focus on the story and their actions. Storytelling is about teaching people that we are all the same in many ways, regardless of ethnicity or culture or language. Accents are often obstacles which constantly remind you "this person is nothing like you".

  • @barkon

I agree, and the idea was pioneered by Stanley Kubric when he made Paths of Glory. It would have completely ruined the movie if he had the actors speak with fake French accents.

  • This movie was filmed in Israel using an Israeli modified T-55 tank. I suppose the producers wanted to make it look like a T-72.

Russian Tanks were death traps to their crews. British and American tanks are much better.

  • why is tank driver refers to commander as "sir"? should it not be tovarish, or at least comrade?

  • es un T 55 reformed,..... please...

  • lol, at least they could speak with russian accent

  • If the "Russians" spoke Russian, this film would be a lot better... but well thats Hollywood for you

  • Oh I know. That was my only complaint with this flick. Otherwise, it's a great movie.

  • can u say som one what this movie's name please

  • The Beast of War

  • Beast of War. It is in the title of the clip :P

  • In america it was called "The Beast"

  • T-55 reformado

  • Its a T-62 no doubt

  • can someone say me ,which tank it is

  • looks like a t54 to me

  • this movie i saw a long time ago greate filmwork from in a tank

  • in the tank T-55 are 4 man! And in the film 5! And also Praporshik(Unterofizer) cant be tank comander!

  • это Т 62

    на ствол посмотри....

  • T-62 koroche on vsego lish 2 metra visoti

  • The truth!!!! Americans in Soviet forms !!! They speak in English =) The American propagation )))

  • Well, two subtitled languages would have been too much for the American audience..

  • great movie...but it has a low profile..better than jarhead and flag of brothers crap

  • oh yes it does :)

  • Samad The Ex muslim tank Guy

  • Nah, he's one of these afghan communists

  • @lizgannon

Samad is the coolest guy in the movie. "Sir, if I'm able to reconcile Dialectic Materialism and Allah, isn't that MY business?"

  • he is muslim.. he is praying b4 he killed

  • The movie was released under both titles: "The Beast" and "The Beast Of War". I have 2 CD soundtracks, one of each title.

  • The Beast of War sounds alot cooler

  • and so much more familiar post 2005 GoW premiere ;)

  • The Beast of war i would say

  • It titled "The Beast" not "Beast of War".

  • Not exactly. There are two titles. It's The Beast of War also known as The Beast.

  • @retaliatorek Yes, the problem is that so many movies came out in the last 10 to 15 years titled "The Beast", plus it was always confusing the public with the older thriller, "The Beast", that I think they decided to re-title it recently. Especially in this era of the Internet, you have to have some kind of distinctive title otherwise you get run over by the more popular or more recent titles that are also called "The Beast". Too many.

  • @retaliatorek Bahala mean beast, sure one can say the beast but saying the best of war, no that is a complete mistranslation
