This is one rare piece of art. It's not perfect, but more like a crude diamond of a kind. It's one thing to make a remix of a popular song, but totally different to drop the key to the minor and create a fantastic sound and style. You're definitely more a pianist than a singer, but that still doesn't mean you couldn't do both (not to say at the same time too)! I'm impressed.

If this masterpiece (of cake) would be just a bit more refined with quality equipment, it would be a huge success!

This is awful - you haven't committed to a melody. You also didn't re-harmonize the melody or harmony in minor, you just grabbed a couple of generic minor progressions and sung random notes in the key over it. No good, man.

Why should he just transpose the original chords into a minor key? That would provide less thought and compositional ability than "grabb[ing] minor progressions and [singing] random notes in the key over it" as you described, and really, he didn't do that. A minor chord is a specific chord (root, minor third, perfect fith). If he had played random minor chords there wouldn't have been any chord progression.
