I don't know if this will be available to the public, but if it is, only a small niche of people will have it due to it's non practicality. Also I think this is to showcase what Mazda CAN do, but won't. Like that other Miata one-off, the full hardtop miata. Although I don't know if Mazda made that, it showcases what could have been, but wasn't done.

ya EPA is for the average driver. I'm like you for example the EPA on my car is 35 mpg but I get 42 quite normally.

My aunts car is rated at 17mpg she gets 17 mpg but I get 21mpg when I drive it.

The sad thing is I speed alot and I get good millage. Main thing is keep the engine relaxed.

Yeah, if you use the engine correctly, you can get far better M.P.G, also being able to "read the road" helps too. My last car ( small 1.4 litre engine) averaged 45 to the gallon..& over 50 on a really long run.

A lot of it depends on where u drive your car. Good milage on the motorway is easy. Good milage in a city is very difficult.

On long journeys at a relatively constant 80mph I get 38mpg (more than EPA claims) and in cities I get less than 25 (less than the EPA claims)

( Sure I could improve my milage in the city if I wanted to. But then I wouldn't have any fun and wouldn't get anywhere on time ;) )

Personally though as someone who drives motorcycles I yearn for such a convertible as the Superlight. There's just something about not having a windshield that makes it seem more aggressive and race like to me.

Probably one of the more stupid ideas coming from Mazda, are you required to wear a helmet now since the "lackingness" of a proper windshield? If anything they're going to have to re-invision this car if it were to really come true in the states.
