my GSD just passed. but koda (my GSD) and stone (my st. bernard/ mix) would pull me and my sister and my bro on the sled. and we would go so fast most of the time we would get flung out of the sled. he was the best dog i ever had. including hooch, me great dane, i have now and stone. all 3 are the best dogs i ever owned and ever will own!!!!!!
@animalobssessor9 Huskies and Malamutes are used because they are indiginous to the countries that typically use sledges. They have coats that are adapted to the environment. That's why they use them!. GSD's are a European breed.

German Shepherds are a strong breed but often huskies and malamutes are preferred due in part to their strengths and speeds
