I vaguely recognise some of the deathnote characters into those of Bakuman. L is Niizuma Eiji and Light Yagami is Nanamine Tooru, just my opinion though.

Also, this makes sense, because I heard that Bleach's manga isn't selling as much anymore in Japan, but Bakuman is.

@AnimeGuruma well, volume-wise bleach is still above bakuman, but bakuman sold more over the year (you can look it up on some statistics), i wouldnt say that bleach is out of the big 3 or whatever because it is a franchise with more commercial value than bakuman....but im glad that bakuman gets the popularity it deserves, i love this series :D

this song is what I had expected the opening to have sounded like, I was really hoping for a new opening over a new ending theme, but I guess they save their best songs for the end.

@yksnimus its about these two guys who plan to write manga. If the main character becomes successful he will get to marry a girl who is trying to become a voice actor (they both like each other) Its really inspiring as it shows how the character don't give up and keep working harder and harder.

"Bakuchi" (gambling)

"Baku" (monster which eat dreams)

The man is probably just man in English or from the word "manga". Maybe both.

@Kanuskiz Well since it's a play on many words I guess it can mean many things. however if you take the storyline into consideration it'll probably mean something like, "We're gambling everything we've to make our manga popular so our dreams can come true." something like that.

If you take "Baku" as bakuchi (gambling) and "man" as just man then Gambling + Man = Gambler

If the "Baku" is from bakuhatsu (bomb) and "man" from manga it'll be something like "We'll make this manga into a HIT" (popular)

@Kanuskiz I think they also want the title sound something hero-like because in the story Mashiro's uncle wrote a manga titled "Super Hero Legend' beside if you take that and use it with the "Baku" (monster which eat dreams) then it will be "We're fighting for our dreams"

Gambling + Manga = Gambling on manga

These are just my own interpretation though.

Also, Bomb + Man = bomberman (joking). Hope that helps.
