For newbies like I was.. You see that connection that he uses to connect the car to the radio? That's actually 2 different parts. One part will come with the radio. The other part must be bought separately. Any decent car audio store should have the right part for your car, and they'll usually make sure it's the right one.
Your job is to match the colors on each connection. See 2:47 It's easy, though I recommend getting some wire snippers and wiring tape so you can do the job decently.
hi guys. the company i used is called autoleads... you can find their stuff on ebay quite easily.
cant tell you what colour wires are what mate as they differ from year to year, the best thing to do would be to get a multimeter and test for 12v on each cable see whats live and whats ignition live.
Which type of in-dash kit did you use? I live in the US and all i can find are dash kits made by metra and scosche. Any product recommendation for a '03 zx3 on-dash kit would be wonderful. Thanks!
hello. can you please tell which exact cable (colors) of ford wire harness matches to that black socket cable wires? (for example: ford's [thick orange-black] cable matches to socket's [yellow]... and what are the others?). i have ford focus I 2004, and it came without any it's original socket plugs, so i'm trying to figure out, how to connect all cables to each other. i can't realize where to connect black socket's [red], [blue] and [black].
if you are in the UK eBay is by far the cheapest, but if you need to go get tehm from a shop then halfords normally stock them, but and car audioi store should sell them. the wire you need for a 1998-2003 focus is a PC2-08-4 i think and then any ISO ariel lead, but the Alpine wont need then ariel piece :D
hi, i just bought a sony xplod cdx-gt250mp and im trying to install it myself.. i really dont wanna mess with the wiring, can you pleeeease tell me how to find those wire adapters? i have a 2003 focus.. thanks in advance! oh and also the thing for the antenna :) im desperate! lol thanks
i just bought an alpine from crutchfield with installation gear, the wiring harness they sent us was way off and i cannot find the right harness. Please tell me where you got your harness from and what is it called?
@1richbish I have been looking at the 1.4 Focus for my first car, it has to be a 2001 or younger because the tax rates are cheaper (I'm 17.... Almost). And my mam said she will get me a mk1 ford focus. And this video has shown me how easy these cars are to make them look good. But overall, how is the mk1 focus as an everyday car? Because I really, really want one.
ok people... the facia plate is there to reduce the size of the hole(you will need to buy this part from any audio shop) , because most radios are single DIN size and the focus has a DIN and a half size hole, you will need this plate to reduce it. there are other radios available double DIN size but they wont fit. (DIN is just a measurement of the size of hole single DIN double DIN)
hi, im commenting from a diff username. the wires r autoleads wires pc2-08-4 and will just clip in. the 2005 focus is different and will require different parts and it can be pretty awkward to remove the original facia. the stalk would work if the extra wiring harness pc99-x07 and the radio is compatible mate
Hi! What kind of wires (harness) did you use to connect the new radio to the car? I haven't been able to find them, or the ones I find I need to put together and I'm not sure if they are the right ones . . . .
I'm trying to install a Sony stereo, like the one in your video, to a Ford Focus ZX5 2002.
nice vid simple and easy like it, i have to do work on a mk2 wich is 2005 i believe, what would be the differences? need to get the fascia and everything

@1richbish You can buy the whole panel from Ebay for £49 and it will take double din.

Yeah, explain the 'facial plate' if you can. i don't have one - are they optional things you can buy when you choose another stereo?

Hey what kind of radio did you install and did all of those cables come with the radio itself or did you have to buy a couple seperate?
