Thanks for the video pal, I was wondering what's the alternative between Maxtor and DisplayLink, I guess none at the moment. Apparently I read Maxtor splits the lines of the video and shares it among the computers, requires a video port but no more than 1 usb port either. While it seems unless you buy a DisplayLink enabled monitor or Docking station, you need to buy each adapter for each monitor. As of Today, DisplayLink's Mac drivers is causing lag and some apps to crash.(1)
Matrox makes "Dual and Triple-Head" devices that essentially take a high resolution signal and splits it between two or three monitors. It's essentially platform agnostic. The DisplayLink adapter shuttles finished video frames over the USB.
If you want to know more, check out out Matrox episodes.
I followed all your blog including Matrox episodes,
fully well explained, thanks again !
To correct what I wrote earlier, yes, I tried to be careful to not to write Maxtor but in the end I wrote Maxtor meaning Matrox, thanks for the correction. Another correction I wanted to make is that as of today Matrox's digital (DVI outs) are not working with Aluminum Macbooks with minidisplay port although the MiniDisplay to VGA adapter. That's what I've read in the forums.
I was looking for something like this and I was thinking about picking up a cheapie from NewEgg. Then I watched this episode and I bought a Kensington DisplayLink. The thing is AWESOME! Thanks for the reco.

claatu,
Do you mean "Matrox"? Maxtor make hard drives.
