Does this guy ever bang on about anytig else, why doesn't just for a change put up a speech about the unelected head of state, unelected hous of lords, unelected primeminster, quangos, special adviosr, etc in his own country or his just a grade 1 hypocrite?
If you're going to use words like hypocrite then at least crack a dictionary and read the definition. Then you'll be able to speak more intelligently...
What you believe is irrelevant, I used hypocrite correctly, I suggest you get a new dictionary or better understanding of the English language. Moron.
ywrt... Very good point - but he is addressing the EU parliament.... Most of his ideas from his book "the Plan " are about reforming the British constitution.STOP PRESS .. Vaclav Klaus has signed . God help us now
Thank you for pointing me to his book , just had a look at some of the comments on Amazon, it looks quite interesting, so it would seem at least from what I can glean in the comments that he is reasonably consistent.
I realize he was addressing the EU, but really I get it, he considers the EU undemocratic, unaccountable, etc, so many of these videos simply repeat that over and over again, it would be nice to have more videos of his views on other things, so he looks less like an obsessive who simply turns any subject to the EU is undemocratic, unaccountable.
Watching these videos one questions why he is an MEP, I mean does he actually engage in proper debate on the subject when in committees or does he just sit in the corner and repeat "undemocratic, unaccountable"?
More varied videos would help to lessen the rather one-dimensional character shown so far.
Yes I happened by chance to read the book .I think you can get some idea from his speeches in the US on You Tube. But I think he agrees with you completely that there is little point in repatriating powers to this country in the state the constitution is in now.
In Britain the only mandate the eu has democratically through a referendum is to implement laws to harmonise product production standards and free trade. The point was to allow free trade within the eu borders to make trade easier. This naturally helps the poorer countries with exports and gives them a trading advantage over non eu countries. What the British people did not agree to was financial aid for first world countries.
EU is doing through bureaucracy what Caesar, Charlemagne, Napoleon, and Hitler all failed to do through force - nothing short of the conquest and unification of Europe. Tear it down now or you have no countries left - just administrative zones.
NOT IN OUR NAMES! The shameful undemocratic nature of this Eurostate fraud, is mirrored in another domestic concern. As a postie, it amazes me and my colleagues when we hear the Beeb other news outlets that...... "Postal workers have voted to strike.." The union has voted to strike. Like the British ppl on ratification, the real workers have been denied our democratic right to vote on matters that concern us! The unions the media are complicit in dangerously ignoring DEMOCRACY.
Just explain to me, why do you think Europe must stay divided and weak? I'm Portuguese and I belive in European Union because it supports the european poorest peoples and give them some representation in the world.. Of course a nation like UK don't want to "help", "support" the poorest coutries, their only interest is to trade and make profit from them.
Life is much more than economics or budgets. And anyway, all those supports came from the taxpayer anyway...For countries such as the UK, which have fought hard in the past to get that condition, it's just not worth it. They're not interested in giving away freedom and funding to someone else.
As an American, with no dog in this fight, I find this whole EU thing interesting. So you have sovereign states in Europe essentially subverting their own sovereignty to the EU. To leaders in the EU who arent elected directly by the people of Europe. There is nothing wrong with helping the poor. But is it really help when you replace freedom with the tyranny of bureaucracy?
Spanky, you do have a dog in this fight. The fight against tryannical gov't isn't something we (Americans) have the privilege of watching from across the Atlantic. In fact, we are being manipulated in much the same manner. The one major difference is our constitution is causing them some trouble. The loophole they are trying to exploit is that the Constitution declares what gov't can't do to us! Our current Pres. & Congress are hoping to add a convoluted section about what gov't can do "for us"!
I too would be happy to be Portugese, and receive 250% of my EU contribution back in funding for my country. Sadly as a Briton, we are saddled with a net contribution about to reach £65m every day, for absolutely no benefit, and a massive loss of soverignty.
Guys the whole ideia of the European Union is for the richest coutries in europe to HELP the poorest ones.. No one force UK to join the EU. Now if you guys want to quit, the Lisbon Treaty will allow you to do that I suppose.
Try answering, as personally as possible, these questions for the man or woman on the street: Does it even matter? or How does that matter to me? "Why should I care?"
Many already know the answer very well but too many more dont. We need to leave the citizens with a sense of understanding akin to that of an alcohol-drinking teenage driver who sees up close and personal the wreckage that comes from their foolish and disastrous behavior.
All those MPs who have led us in to the EUSSR are guilty of treason of the highest degree, Hitler would be having a right old laugh about this if he was still around today. MPs & MEPS.... we the people will judge you and punish you accordingly for your crimes of high treason.
zannagalv : I fully agree. They are guilty of either treason or woeful professional negligence. Edward Heath, actually admitted on TV a few years ago that he knew all along that the EEC (E.U.) was always meant to be a political unity and not just the economic trade area he promoted to the British people. He admits he deceived the British public who vote him into power! Her was a double agent.
Hannans analysis is spot-on as usual, is there any doubt that this entire movement is a deliberate attempt to construct the apparatus of a european empire whose citizens shall be gradually an inexorably reduced to mere serfs?
Don't laugh since the United States (despite a better crafted Constitution) is being chipped away at, by ignoring the founding documents provisions (or interpreting them in bizarre ways). It seems that politicians world wide are titillated by the prospect of ruling a country much as the elite of China does in its sphere. We the citizens of the northern world must get our politicians under better control or live in a future police state that will eventually span the entire world.
I agree Grizzly bears are far more predictable and cannot understand how to misuse the constutional and legal systems of the world. Thus even the most predatory of bears has a danger rating that will never approach that of the average politician to human life, liberty, and property. "Power lust" being a much more deadly mental disease then rabies in terms of people killed we should force the creation of institutions that keep our politicians humble and in office for short time spans.
IVE GOT IT, its taken a few videos but now i know. Daniel Hannan looks like that guy from fraiser

im laughing at the grizzly bear analogy.
Make no mistake, I am well aware of the burgeoning new world order system and the role of the EU and US (NAU) in it.
Furthermore I am dedicated to and currently actively engaged in creating a culture of eternal opposition to tyranny in all its forms.
