@gelfddelfg the new y2k does 420 kmph. in a direct comparison the only thing that will run with it is a bugatti or a koenigsegg. no production two wheeler can come even close.
@JJ2daP they look the way they do so as to not have lateral oscillations at speeds higher than 300 kmph. look at the veyron. all said and done the thing looks like a bar of soap. else these things start to lose stability at high speeds. the air has to be directed away from the vehicle at a gentle angle. try taking a naked bike to that speed and crashing is guaranteed. its why streetfighters and nakeds are never made with more than 160 odd bhp. more power is more speed.
I personally prefer kawaski Zx14R hayabusa is pretty good in terms of performance but when it comes to looks it is outclassed by ZxR14 and also in terms of acceleration it is again outclassed by ZxR14 but no one can tell ZxR,s top speed because it is limited to 299Kmph due to the agreeement so they both are world,s fastest bikes
@82ekay yeah we are. 193 bhp produced is at the crank. this means about 170 to 180 bhp at the rear wheel and a top speed of about 180mph. the zx14r produces 192 bhp at the rear wheel. thats 10 to 20bhp more than the liter bikes at the rear wheel where it matters most. also it has a hell of a lot more torque and a longer wheelbase thus allowing better acceleration and higher top speeds (upto 200mph delimited).
kawasaki should give us a limited version of zx14r (delimited) , we wanna see 49 mm throttle bodies no more low/midrange power we need top rpm bhp and lets see this machine can give ya 220+ bhps ...means 220 mph top
Kawi wins this war for 2012 and there is no denying that! They are both very capable and fine machines for what they were designed for but the Kawi is on top for this year. When it comes to personal preference I just can't get over how ugly the Busa is...to me anyway. Again, it's all personal preference but I much prefer the looks of the ZX14R to the Busa!

I think they need to qualify these statements a little.....most dominant sportbike on the planet? Best sales is the ninja 250. On a track any 600 will tromp a zx-14 all day long. My 2 biggest problems with this video are that they don't show the other riders E.T when he goes on the 14, and Rickey gadson knows how to drag race a Hayabusa, he should have been a little bit faster.
@demodee24 the kawi is also more expensive by $1500-$2000. Since all busas after 2008 are pretty much the exact same except for paint that leaves you with about 4 years worth of aftermarket parts. Put simply the busa is like the apple iphone of the heavy supersport bike world, its been around for a while its held its ground n the playing field its largely accepted does the job well and has a price tag thats hard to beat
@hyper7justin, that's 197hp at the motor, but due to friction loss from the transmission they make less at the wheel, I've seen anywhere from 168-173hp from them, not all of the same model bikes make the exact same horsepower, my ZX-14 made 171hp at the wheel, but I've seen a stock 1st gen 14 make 175hp at the wheel, weather and altitude are also factors to consider when looking at dyno numbers.

Its been back and forth with these 2 bikes and the zx12 for a long time. I think Kawasaki is just kicking a little incentive toward Suzuki to come out with a Gen 3. Love the new ZX fairing... the pentagonal pipe is kinda wierd though.
I have raced several Busa's some I beat some I dont. For the one's that have beat me dont feel to proud I'm ridding a zx12 and have alot less cc and you should be able to easilly beat me. But that isn't the case. On a roll on they dont get me by much maybe 2 bikes at the most. For the one's that I have beat just goes to show you cant ride for sheeet!!!
It's funny seeing all the guys who think the Hayabusa is unbeatable, the ZX-12R was faster than the Hayabusa(it's also the reason we are limited to 186 now), do some research, the 06-11 ZX-14 was much faster than.a 1st gen 'busa, and as fast as a second gen, and this new 2012 model blows the second gen 'busa away (even in 100 degree heat) as this video demonstrated, Suzuki is really gonna have to step it up, because while most think the Hayabusa looks better, Kawasaki's are generally faster.

@kensuki1999, it was 100 degrees in this code, so your boys 'busa wouldn't run a 9.69, and your 2010 probably wouldn't run the same times either in that weather.
The Hayabusa set the top speed record in 1999, before manufacturers limited the top speed at 186, so while a stock de-limited 14 is faster, since they don't come from the factory that way, the record can't be broken.

But my boys 2010 stock busa ran 9.69 at englishtown raceway park so I call bs on those times. my 2007 busa ran 10.03 with exhaust and power commander and im no way an experienced drag racer. Dude, thats crazy, those bikes were racing in almost in 95+ degree wearther, stock trim, and still running fast times. Anyone knows, running in Vegas will take at least 1 second off your ET because of the elevation. Kawasaki finally makes a machine that can "beat" the Busa, but Busa will eventually make something to keep its #1 spot.

@89powerup, my 14 made 171hp and 101lb/ft of torque at the wheel, which accounting for 15% Friction loss, puts it right about at the 196 crank HP that the 1st gen 14 was advertised with, so the new one has to put out more then that, yes the BMW puts out more power, but not nearly the torque, and the new 10r is an impressive machine, but again down on torque, for an all around bike, niether the 10, or the S1k can compare, I prefer the 14, plus at 6'8" and 285lbs, I'd look funny on anything else
1441cc = more potential HP....enough said....and please get of the BMW nuts.....I have not seen any stock BMW's run with the bigger bikes.....let's be serious

This was filmed in Las Vegas, one of the "slower" quarter miles in the country. That is why you may have seen Hayabusa's run faster 1/4 mile times.
Those videos of Busa's "owning" ZX-14's? Those are history. This is the 2012 ZX-14R. Did you notice the "R" on the back of that? What do you suppose that stands for?
Will you be seeing Suzuki posting videos of a side-by-side 1/4 mile comparison between these two bikes? No. Why? Because the Busa is slower.

they should have had the same rider post 10 different times on each bike then work the average time out
even then there is no way to tell which is faster 1/4 of a mile or 400m is a very short distance when travel at 160 high speed
one would have to test both bikes over a distance of over 1 mile to see which is faster

A lot of people are angry at these results from the two bikes but really the z14 is the 2012 rebuilt model.. The busa is an older version.. We shouldn't be supposed about this outcome... But the thing about this is.. S1000rr straps 9.5-7 at 150ish... Why are they claiming this zx14 owns everything? Top speed may be different story, but 1/4 I don't think so..

I have raced several Busa's some I beat some I dont. For the one's that have beat me dont feel to proud I'm ridding a zx12 and have alot less cc and you should be able to easilly beat me. But that isn't the case. On a roll on they dont get me by much maybe 2 bikes at the most. For the one's that I have beat just goes to show you cant ride for sheeet!!!

It's funny seeing all the guys who think the Hayabusa is unbeatable, the ZX-12R was faster than the Hayabusa(it's also the reason we are limited to 186 now), do some research, the 06-11 ZX-14 was much faster than.a 1st gen 'busa, and as fast as a second gen, and this new 2012 model blows the second gen 'busa away (even in 100 degree heat) as this video demonstrated, Suzuki is really gonna have to step it up, because while most think the Hayabusa looks better, Kawasaki's are generally faster.

@kensuki1999, it was 100 degrees in this code, so your boys 'busa wouldn't run a 9.69, and your 2010 probably wouldn't run the same times either in that weather.
The Hayabusa set the top speed record in 1999, before manufacturers limited the top speed at 186, so while a stock de-limited 14 is faster, since they don't come from the factory that way, the record can't be broken.

Both bikes are awesome. But my boys 2010 stock busa ran 9.69 at englishtown raceway park so I call bs on those times. my 2007 busa ran 10.03 with exhaust and power commander and im no way an experienced drag racer. Plus if the zx-14 is such a beast why does the hayabusa owns all most every top speed record?

This is funny. Not only do stock Hayabusa riders post 9.7's in the quarter, on top end the aerodynamics kick in and the Hayabusa pulls away. There are vids all over youtube of the stock Busa's owning ZX-14's. It's a shame you have to use your own riders and come up with a frivolous comparison (pitiful). How many people ACTUALLY own either motorcycle, I do. I have a 2007 ZX-14, I've beaten both generations of 'busa, I've beaten plenty of bikes, I've also lost races as well, these bike are both crazy fast, and fun to ride, I just prefer Kawasaki, Hayabusa's are a dime a dozen.

Dude, thats crazy, those bikes were racing in almost in 95+ degree wearther, stock trim, and still running fast times. Anyone knows, running in Vegas will take at least 1 second off your ET because of the elevation. Kawasaki finally makes a machine that can "beat" the Busa, but Busa will eventually make something to keep its #1 spot.

@89powerup, my 14 made 171hp and 101lb/ft of torque at the wheel, which accounting for 15% Friction loss, puts it right about at the 196 crank HP that the 1st gen 14 was advertised with, so the new one has to put out more then that, yes the BMW puts out more power, but not nearly the torque, and the new 10r is an impressive machine, but again down on torque, for an all around bike, niether the 10, or the S1k can compare, I prefer the 14, plus at 6'8" and 285lbs, I'd look funny on anything else

Both of those 1000cc bikes pushed out way more power than both of those bikes. I bet both of them are still more powerful than this thing as well.
