@1mrnewman i disagree with the general statement that education isn't important, kids should be taught the basic principles to read, write and have a general skill in mathematics. The idea in which Queen Rania was pitching is that kids in improvised communities should have primary school education . Btw Bill gates was a genius, he simply droped out of havard to pursue his dream, not because he had difficulties with his studies. He was sent to some of the most elite schools during his early life.
@1mrnewman Todays modern world is very different from when Prophet Mohammed lived. Our values and views towards women have degressed greatly. Today, we live in a man's world where men hold greater power in every environment. Therefore, women's education is critical to creating a secure environment for women. As Queen Rania mentions, mindsets need to change and this take time and persistance, in other words generations. Educated women raise educated and broad minded sons. and daughters.

He was acting narrow minded and didn't maintained the discussion within the topic discussed.

im pretty sure that being objective is a requirement of a "good" interviewer, this man does not "ask' questions but "directs his viewpoints questionably!"
As well, why would you relate education and the marriage of a sick man to a young girl like that? there is no direct link there so that was a pathetic move!! and queen Rania did very well in answering appropriately!! she is great!!!
this idiot has set his mind on belliteling arabs and muslims, he clearly don't want to understand anything, he has an agenda he wants to convey and thats it.
He is an idiot. Iran and Afghanistan aren't arabs,...that's like saying all white people are europeans, first of all the moral must be changed under those people, if they get higher education, they will think different.
this whole 'arab world' 'muslim world' terminology is stupid.. there is just one world. Call it arab countries OR muslim countries... the issues in Arab countries are completely different from other Muslim countries like Malaysia... you cant paint every country with the same brush...
I'm embarrassed that this man is a prominent "journalist" in my country and asking such idiotic questions. Even I, a young person realize that Afghanistan is not Arab and a representative of the Arab world. Queen Rania, I seriously respect you for being patient throughout this interview. I don't think I could do the same.
i cant believe how stupid wolf blitzer is!!!! he can try to make sarah palin look and sound stupid but not this woman! do your homework, u stupid american!!
plesae dont feel your Christian values are superior to Muslims values because western society are more equal. It was precisely the Christian value that kept millions of european and american girls from school only little more than one hundred years ago. In fact it was christian priest who opposed smart women from getting an education.
It falls in the category of Muslim country and although she usually speaks for Arab countries, she can still address the problems in other Muslim countries.
I agree. blitzer himself is normally ignorant of many things, because he doesn't bother to check out the rumors he listens to. He's not a reporter or a journalist.
she was talkin about spreading education, general education and all he wanted to do was to point out dat i arab children are taught to hate the west, which is sooooooo nt true.where did he get dat from??
what an idiot, i hate this zionist dog, she is a force for good, i wish she reaches her goals of world peace, allot of love from somalia, and also i love the kings taste for women she is stunning
Blitzer is so ill-informed. How can he compare Afghanistan and the Taliban with the generic situation of the Arab World? Overall in the Middle East, the number of women in higher education is larger than the number of men. Here in the UAE for instance, 2/3 of university students are female. Discrimination between males and females in education was never an issue in the Gulf and the Arab world. Was he trying to spice it up?
I'm surprised how Wolf was asking questions like he's a common person and not like knowledgeable journalist we think he is. Doesn't Wolf know that what he referred to as the Muslim world and the Arab world consists of so many nations and cultures which are in most cases very different from the Taliban he referred as an example.
Score one for the Queen! Wolf Blitzer is such a tool, he isn't even aware that every time he throws a "gotcha," accusative, non-squitr at her, she responds with, "we have to get over our ignorance and prejudices." He doesn't even get that each of his presumptions are precisely as bad as the ones he accuses Arabs of, or that she's calling him out on the fact each time.
The interviewer clearly has no clue about what he's saying. "Are you changing what's written in the textbooks about hatred towards the west" .Well I DARE YOU find one book with hatred towards the west in Jordan.
I really hate it when interviewers don't even take the proper amount of time to learn about the thing they are discussing.
Having 12 years of education, I can comfortably say that the syllabuses for schools in Jordan do not contain any biased or discriminating information whatsoever...
steriotypes and prejudice are there in the east and the west, ofcourse they are a mental disaster, but from the reporter's question it's full of steriotypes about the east, ( stop steriotypes , prejudice and racesim)
I really don't like how he tries to derail her when she's explaining the positive improvements in the Middle East.. He keeps bringing it back to these trivial stereotypes, and is ignoring the bigger picture! It's so condescending.... if he listened he might actually learn something new, instead hes trying to get his preconceived thoughts and opinions reconfirmed. P.S. I love her, Subhanah Allah...

well obviously because of her respect to saudi arabia, She doesn't know what Saudi Arabia's views are on the subject. ,She is in charge of jordan ,and can answer any question on Jordan.. Thats why she avoided his questions. Actually, his questions seem very inappropriate and he constantly tries to challenge her with a disrespectful question, but her response always fits perfectly. ( its like avoiding offending anyone, besides Saudi is wonderful, I don't mean any offense.)
The Queen was very articulate and diplomatic and i thought she answerd Mr Blitzer very well. In response to, his stereotyping, she stressed the importance of not teaching stereotypes.
Geez, SHUT UP Wolf! You can see her getting frustrated with his generalizations and "we hear about here in the Western world..." - yeah she knows - thats the kinds of stereotypes shes fighting against!
wallah mabrook! Bravo for queen,if more leaders and prime ministers would look up to this wonderfull woman who is a decent human been firstly and than excellent role model in the leadership world today this world would be a hopefull place, yet she is exception in the sea of awfull leaders. And this journalist is insisting on his persuasion that all children in arab countries are taught to hate the west..that is so not professional and not true! What are western children taught about east?
jahmoma, u are so right about the journalist! i had a feeling that sometimes he wanted to put the words in her mouth...... how rude unprofessional! though, it is his job to do that=) and queen was very diplomatic in her answers!
what is wrong with you people, commenting about queen rania's wardrobe whether its good or bad...
focus on her message!
i think she handled wolf blitzer very well.... his stereotypes, his negative and in some cases wrong facts, some of his USELESS questions here and there....
from the looks of it... he doesn't know much about the Middle East.
Amazing plans, aspirations and goals Queen Rania..
very well said. I loved your comment on getting away from traditional eastern memorizing style to rather understanding the concepts. I am not from your country but I admire your genuine interest in uplifting eastern education standards. You are setting up a show-case. I thank you for your valuable investment in securing a prosper and peaceful eastern future.
very well said. I love your comments to get away from traditional eastern memorizing style to absorbing concepts. Wish you all the best and much success in your genuine efforts of uplifting education standards. I cannot thank you enough for your investment and interest in securing a prosper eastern future.
Such a source of inspiration for us Muslim girls... and for those who criticize her clothes should perhaps try to focus more on the message of her words...
If she want to potray a muslim women the she didnt fit in.There is nothing wrong with her dress if she wears them at home and to be seem by her next of kin.
Islam never talks about the dress, but the insecure Muslim men want to cover their women. There should be a balance, & the queen looks very modest. & I love what she wears. Religion of Islam was made for controlling men to rule & enslave women.
The interviewer is a bloody bigot, in my opinion. He kept on using the Moslem world as a synonym for the Arab world. And Queen Rania, though some may think that Her Majesty didn't answer the questions, used the term the Arab world everytime. I applaud Her Majesty for doing that.
About Her Majesty not answering questions about the education system in Saudi Arabia. Her Majesty IS the Queen of Jordan. How could Her Majesty answer or say anything about the system in Saudi?
You'd think that Wolf would know as a TV anchorman that Afganistan is not an Arab country and you'd also think Rania would take 5 seconds to correct him on that.
Queen Rania. I like her even though I'd like to see our concept of education radically progress to something much less damaging to children than schools in their present form typically are.
see how our world is going, Rania, is talking about how to fix things, and concentrating on quality not quantity, and the guy keeps reminding her of small minorities and things in the past to degrade her society. every society has bad things in the past & r being fixed, not just us.
Then, hating israel was something we drank every day with our milk when we hear the stories of our grandfathers & israel, not through our books, we will keep hating israel because at the end israel stole our land.
There is some Absolute monarchys left in that area, especially Saudi Arabia. Jeez, this is The 21 Centur, XXI Centuria COME ON! YOUR MAJESTY KING ABDULLAH! GET SOME DEMOCRACY THERE! AND LAWS FR\OM A NEUTRAl, POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS POINT IF YOU TRYING TO BRING DEMOCRACY BUT REALLY GET IN TROUBLE WITH SPIRITUAL LEADERS, YOU THE FRIGGIN KING IN AN REAL ABSOLUTE MONARCHY, WITH UNLIMITED POWER.
she is not really answering his questions. He wants to hear the perspective on issues he brought up on the saudi arabians while Rania is talking about there being a development in the Arab world due tow hat she has done for Jordan. This interview is pretty much a failure.Questions are not being met with answers.
she is in charge of jordan..someone in her position can't speak on behalf of other countries...if she says something bad about saudi arabia......countries relations are damaged...
What I am wondering about is, why does the Christian/Muslim/Jewish-God accept all the shit going on in the Middle-East and especially in His city Jerusalem. What kind of God does not choose side when children and women are being killed?
But you all have the answer apparently: believing fairy tales will solve your problem. Not.
If the Arabs were allowed to be united they would be a superpower.
300 million with the largest supplies of natural resources in the world.
They would all be very rich and well educated.
But instead to be able to control all this wealth the British and French started drawing lines , divide and rule, and installed all these puppet kings and puppet rulers who would help the British and French to get hold of the oil while the people went poor and they themselves grew rich.
Education is absolutely the way for any country wishing to Develop dreaming of a big change, queen Rania is working on..And I think she is the right person for it,,One hand can not Clap! In the Arab world people's mind is hard to shape or change, Because It's comes from religion and misunderstanding It,So If we work on the people who teach the religion and educate them It would be automatically a lot hands out there working for a big change for the new generation
how about the youth that can not afford to go to university ??? do they stay without no education ?? what do theydo where do they go if they really need to get educated ??
This "interview" which is more like a court martial based on lies and propaganda and stereotyping further propagated by this ZioNAZI mouthpiece Wolf "The Joo" Blitzer. I can not believe how arrogant those ZioNAZIS are becoming.
Imagine if she ask him to answer for all the Jews for the Rabbi in NY who raped and then killed a child. or the other rabbi on NBC's "To catch a predictor" who came to rape another boy.
She is Palestinian. It would be nice if she could help the people of Gaza who cannot even feed their children because of the Israeli blockade that is keeping out food, medical supplies, building materials, even toys that were destroyed by the Israelis recent massacre. Why does she allow her people to suffer that way?
together that there would be absolutely no problem with the integration, the people just need to want it, but they often dont care, which is really sad
BTW, Queen Rania is an amazing woman with so much strength and energy Really impressive what shes doing for her nation and the rest of the world!
so they have big difficulties with the language, so they cannot achieve the education that would be possible if they would try to integrate themselves a little bit more. I know its difficult sometimes, because there are many haters in the world, but I live in a city where so many cultures come
Why does Mr. Blitzer talk about Europe and then mentions Afghanistan? It's Asia, no Europe. In the European countries is no discrimination by the governments. The problems are often the girls' families who don't really care of the school. The second problem is that many Muslims here avoid the contact with the natives,
Wolf Blitzer has totally missed the point, and kept interupting her and raising random negative and un related points. Saudi marriage for an 8 year old girl? what on earth? Not a good interview wolf lacks neutral reporting and clearly intended to shift the conversation away from the education revolution.
Your Majesty, I would like to ask why Jordan, as a modern, free and just nation, does not have a guaranteed line of succession allowing women with equal rights as with European monarchies. I feel this is a large lapse in women's rights in Jordan and I would to highlight this fact by speaking to you, in my opinion one, of the Middle East's greatest women's and human rights activist.
May the stars watch over you and may peace be in your heart, Your Majesty

According to a norwegian magazine, queen Rania was a big admirer to Saddam Hussein ! she loved saddam very much. She was quoted as saying ; " If it was not for me being the wife of king Abdullah I would've married Saddam without hesitation!!"
This is not surprizing! Even her late father in law King Hussein was a slave to Saddam! Why shouldn't she admire Saddam?!!!
again you ohh my god man, you can't get enough of it right, do something with your life no body is reading becasue no body cares about what you say please man get a life .. she will still be the best LOL..
Wolf Blitzer is a typical american journalist with a prepared agenda listen to his questions ,,, your majesty; i believe you've done more than enough explaining to the US what you dont have to explain while europe is falling deeper in the fest hand of the right-wing which is pre-determined on islamophobia as a successful tactic. i believe if you pay a bit of attention to the islamophobic german media youll notice a shocking tendency that needs attention
the guy is asking offensive questions. they shud get over us being Muslims.. why do we even have to justify being who we are..
the host gives her an example of a single man in Saudia Arabia.. i mean for Gods sake, a single person does not represt the MUSLIM world..
then he asks her how they teach hatred at school.. what kind of a question is that..do we teach 'HATE THE WHITE MAN' at school, i guess not...where are his facts, what kind of a host or watever he is, is he?
Education truly is needed, starting with Wolf Blitzer. He combines 'Arab World' with 'Muslim World', which in itself is incorrect. Queen Rania is the queen of one country and not of the entire Muslim or the Arab world. Can Obama speak for the entire Western or the Christian world? Pure ignorance and stupidity. So much for journalism and 'situation' room.
I caught that also Arab = Muslim. This unfortunately is how I've observed many US journalists talk when discussing any Arab country or issue. It will continue to drive a wedge and increase an us vs them mentality.
Am glad I was reminded of Queen Rania efforts to reach out to the world on YouTube.
I agree, Queen Rania handled these questions and interview extremely well! She is one incredibly intelligent lady, its obvious! She also possesses a great deal of etiquette, elegance, pose and class. We all can learn form her behavior, etiquette, class, and pose.

The reporter is an idiot. Talking about how she can address issues in the Arab/Islamic world, does he have any idea how BIG the Arab world is? Queen Rania is the Queen of Jordan not the whole Arab world, what's up with his questions about Afghanistan and Saudia Arabia it doesn't really concern her! That guy really needs to write down some better questions! Nonetheless I love how she replied to him GO QUEEN RANIA!
I like Queen Rania, I think she's superb and fabulous. I live in USA and I respect her. I definitely applaud her for her extensive works toward the better world through education

I don't think I could do the same.

plesae dont feel your Christian values are superior to Muslims values because western society are more equal. It was precisely the Christian value that kept millions of european and american girls from school only little more than one hundred years ago. In fact it was christian priest who opposed smart women from getting an education.

Maitha87 2 years ago

Having 12 years of education, I can comfortably say that the syllabuses for schools in Jordan do not contain any biased or discriminating information whatsoever...

steriotypes and prejudice are there in the east and the west, ofcourse they are a mental disaster, but from the reporter's question it's full of steriotypes about the east, ( stop steriotypes , prejudice and racesim)

soso2282 2 years ago
well obviously because of her respect to saudi arabia, She doesn't know what Saudi Arabia's views are on the subject. ,She is in charge of jordan ,and can answer any question on Jordan.. Thats why she avoided his questions. Actually, his questions seem very inappropriate and he constantly tries to challenge her with a disrespectful question, but her response always fits perfectly. ( its like avoiding offending anyone, besides Saudi is wonderful, I don't mean any offense.)

If the Arabs were allowed to be united they would be a superpower.
300 million with the largest supplies of natural resources in the world.
They would all be very rich and well educated.
But instead to be able to control all this wealth the British and French started drawing lines , divide and rule, and installed all these puppet kings and puppet rulers who would help the British and French to get hold of the oil while the people went poor and they themselves grew rich.

Education is absolutely the way for any country wishing to Develop dreaming of a big change, queen Rania is working on..And I think she is the right person for it,,One hand can not Clap! Imagine if she ask him to answer for all the Jews for the Rabbi in NY who raped and then killed a child. or the other rabbi on NBC's "To catch a predictor" who came to rape another boy.
This man and this interview are disgusting.

She is Palestinian. It would be nice if she could help the people of Gaza who cannot even feed their children because of the Israeli blockade that is keeping out food, medical supplies, building materials, even toys that were destroyed by the Israelis recent massacre. Why does she allow her people to suffer that way?
connielane 2 years ago
Because she and her family are tools of the Western Imperial powers.
Most important Britain and the USA.
All countries in the Middle East were created by the British and French after WW1.
Thats why they have borders that look like straight lines.
Some British person drew them on a map.
They do not reflect a historical or cultural divide among the Arabs.

Why does Mr. Blitzer talk about Europe and then mentions Afghanistan? It's Asia, no Europe. In the European countries is no discrimination by the governments. The problems are often the girls' families who don't really care of the school. The second problem is that many Muslims here avoid the contact with the natives,
strnadka 2 years ago
Wolf Blitzer has totally missed the point, and kept interupting her and raising random negative and un related points. Saudi marriage for an 8 year old girl? what on earth? Education truly is needed, starting with Wolf Blitzer. He combines 'Arab World' with 'Muslim World', which in itself is incorrect. Queen Rania is the queen of one country and not of the entire Muslim or the Arab world. Can Obama speak for the entire Western or the Christian world? Pure ignorance and stupidity. So much for journalism and 'situation' room.
