  • and what type of lay is that when you paint is it polyuerethane

  • @mcshadow17 If your talking about the resin, it is polyseter resin with red pigment

  • where do you get the deck ive been searching and cant find a place where they sell them

  • @mcshadow17 Not sure what your asking??

  • Nice fish ..... always enjoy watching a craftsman at his trade! First Class!

  • what tool is the one from 1:36. u removed the stringer from the tail with that one.

i did it with a dremel and it was so damn hard.

what kind of resin u use? i tried with poly with 2.5% of catalyst and in 5-8 min gelled, with 1.8% in aprox 10 min in the end i tried with 1% of catalyst and i was kinda able to do it.

    nice video by the way.

    cheers

  • @IGcolin tool is a surform with a round blade. I use polyseter resin with catalyst. The mix ratio will depend on the air temperature.

  • @kakashifreak111 it's an electric sander/polisher and yes you do need it.

  • @kakashifreak111 not sure what your question is. I did change to a larger sanding pad (soft pad) to sand board.

  • how many layers of glassing you add to a board?

  • @sema3050 Standard glass job is one layer on the bottom and two layers on the top (deck)

  • @wavrydrsurfgear making a surfboard sounds likes fun, I want to make one

  • cool thanks for the tips

  • how long did you wait after the cut lap on the bottom to flip it over and cut along the pinline? were you using polyester resin in this? thnks

  • @sslurpee13 Used polyseter resin. It depends on the weather and how much catalyst you put into your resin. The more catalyst the quicker it will cure. I waited about 15-20 minutes before I began to cut on this board.

  • @wavrydrsurfgear Very cool. Do you remember what sort of catalyzation rate that happened to be? Or how long would you wait for 10cc's a quart? Thanks a bunch for your help

  • @wavrydrsurfgear Very cool. Do you remember what sort of catalyzation rate that happened to be? Or how long would you wait for 10cc's a quart? And did you grind down the edge of that lamination before you did the deck lam? Thanks a bunch for your help

  • @sslurpee13 Yea grind down the edge before you lam the deck. Don't know the exact time frame. I always leave xtra resin in my bucket and check to see how fast it cures. when it starts to get real gummy, it's probably time to cut the glass. Remember the temperature plays a key role in the curing rate.

  • Good job my friend
