The scenery seems to be coming along but the two things I really like are the slow action, easing the train through the the mountain gap, and the stub turnout, a detail all too rarely modelled.
You got some great ideas down on the benchwork there! I suspect some influence from Mr Furlow in there??
I look forward to seeing the completion of the switchback.
The video is always degraded to fit the space on The Tube,so I can't tell from here, but did you use much dirt and rubble? I throw the stuff down like there's no tomorrow sometimes.. hides a myriad of goofs!
Of course, I was influenced by M Furlow, but also by John Allen, though I didn't dare to extend the canyon to the flour.
The switchback is not completes yet. I am building the intermediate station above the stagging tracks this summer.
I used plenty of sand, dirt and gravel, over a great amount of "papier maché" made from egg trays. By now, the landscape is rather crude. I just want to achieve a general look. Perhaps I will detail it better one day.
@tyrphon very nice layout I am trying to do that same thing for the Georgetown line complete with the loop based from maybee Georgetown to Silver Plume for the C&S in ON30 maybee but hell I like too many of the Colorado NG lines LOL I want the RGS and the DRGW to tie into all that too probilly will never happen
just influenced lol
you need to read John Olson's method to create rocks (idea)
and change this f...... sound :(
it's always the same problem with ON30 stuff don't waste your time and go to On3

Sweet layout. I started to build the San Juan Central
back in the 80s. But never got to finish it. I will be starting to build a new layout soon.
