@dideoxynucleotide Sorrry but I totally disagree with you. I think Karl Bohm is the best Mozart conductor ever...once you hear him conducting mozart it's really difficult to approach any other conductor listening to WAM divine music...

@operalover67 Yes, Bohm is so much better than most of today's conductors when it comes to Mozart, he importantly allows the music to breathe instead of rushing it off it's feet. I actually like Klemperer's late Mozart Opera recordings which most people find far too slow but when you get used to the tempo there is so much insight there.
I see what you mean and I think its the Opera which is throwing u off, not the language, he's probably the greatest lieder artist to and has great subtly but in opera its not about subtly, its about being big and grand and he's not necessarily that kind of singer. I mean I like this a lot because its refreshing but there is that factor of lieder artist vs. opera singer
Two great baritones in one production! I simply want to have this production, because of the great cast :)) I am not a professional on Le Nozze, but I like it very much and as far as I can tell, their voices fit their roles, which is not always the case. ^^
I love Susanna's face at 4:47 , she looks like a cute little dog.

Love DFD in german Lieder...but his italian just sounds so unnatural...not exactly wrong, just accentuations always a little off...

Kiri Te Kananawa est vraiment une des meilleures chanteuses du monde et Maria Ewing est vraiment trop mignonne dans le rôle de chérubin ^^

I hate this film. Horrible acting, horrible setting, ok singing... but everything else is so camp and low-budget it hardly matters.

had? I thought that he is still teaching in Berlin. And I think that he's a bass-baritone... isn't he? ^^

Actually he is usually considered a 'High Baritone'.

Even A naturals. Search for his 'Ich grolle nicht' from Dichterliebe, it's on YouTube.
