@xprohitman21x A grenade launcher (like the M203) is a separate weapon, classified by the ATF as a destructive device under NFA 1934. Not an "evil feature" as listed by the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994.
I made my AK-74 more evil by getting a desert tan plastic stock from K-VAR to replace the planet of the apes thumb up the ass stock that it had. Then I dyed the plastic an "EVIL" pale green corpse like color. That way when I'm advancing on the enemy with my undead army it'll terrify them even more.
I have to say that you are wrong about anti gun lobby not knowing what they are talking about. They do, they know that the general public is ignorant about firearms. They know that they can scare the masses with scary words and bs studies. But we know them as the hate spewing fear mongers they are. And the funny thing about people who know nothing about guns is that when you take them to the range for the first time fear turns into enlighenment. They realize that guns are fun and not evil.
@aDissentingPatriot Honestly, we're both correct when it comes to the knowledge of the anti-gun lobby. Josh Sugarmann of the Violence Policy Center has freely admitted to capitalizing on the American public's ignorance of semi-auto and "assault rifles". In other words, he admits to lying. Others, like Carolyn McCarthy, famously think a barrel shroud is "a shoulder thing that goes up". But that's why my next video was entitled Shooting Down Anti-Gun Lies... Thanks for the comment!
gun control is the first step in taking away firearms from the general public, governments in the near future will be forces to impose harsh rules on the population, they don't want millions of people with guns standing up for themselves and having that much power,if they are the only ones with guns the public is powerless, not that a gun is a tool to kill others, people kill each other anyway using all kinds of weapons, but millions of people with guns have a strong voice and governments don't like
Did you know that according to "protesteasyguns", a pro gun control channel, al quaida terrorists can buy full auto conversion kits in the US? Do you know what makes me even more mad? She doesn't let you comment on her channel so you can't even let her know how full of crap she is.
@MrDobans13 That twists my nuts too. I love how these pro gun control channels disable comments. What's really funny is they would all tell you they believe in freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Yet they allow for zero discussion of the bullshit they propagate. They only want those who share their misinformed ideals to be allowed to talk and influence others. I should start a channel where I upload these vids and allow discussion. Thats real freedom of expression.
Americas Rifle that's awesome. Great video. Bad guys make it harder for good guys to protect themselves. I could go on and on and on. Keep up the good work.
An old man in my county was beaten nearly to death by men with baseball bats. There were no cries for banning sports equipment. Countless people are mugged by others with knives. No one wanted to ban those. A man attacked his girlfriend with a sword cutting her five times. No one wanted to ban swords. But when someone gets a AR15 the women screamed out "Think of the children!" I live in Maryland. Getting a gun is like pulling teeth but the cops are willing to take them in ten minutes.
atta boy!!...BRAVO!!!.....if they banned every dangerous thing fuck we all would live in marshmellow houses, defended ourselves with care bears and drove fuckin clouds with wheels.....god damn nutless retarded hippie pussies
Bravo, sir. I'll say what the assault rifle ban was all about: they don't want a citizenry that could be as well armed as the well regulated millitia if the government did things we did not want and turned tyranical in the enforcement of those things, (see Penn & Teller on 2nd amendment...great explanation of that amendment!) Me and a friend have a saying: if they won't listen to our ballets, (our voice, free speech,) they will listen to our bullets, (our ability do defend free speech and vote.)
Great job, both on the video, and the rifle. And, thanks for starting with the rules. Always good, and the fact that we responsible gun owners actually have rules like this absolutly pisses off the gun control freaks every time.
Do you mind if I ask? You said you built it all yourself; what did it cost you all in for parts?
I intend to build an AR-15 someday, once I'm living in the US (Canada currently) and have the spare change. Wondering how long into the future that might be.
@MeanEyedCats As presented, the rifle had about $15-1600 USD into it. There are areas cost could be cut without sacrificing quality, imo, and I wouldn't rebuild the same way again. Now that I'm more familiar with the platform, I'd do a standard upper rcvr instead of Vltor. I also wouldn't do a CASV rail again, as that was done for convenience- a Viking Tactics is still good, and less expensive. Just don't skimp on the barrel, and buy it from Bravo Company at a minimum.
People don't realize that the second amendment is there to protect us from the government and look who is making the laws for it, the government. Its like saying let the wolf decide where the sheep sleep.
I agree with 99% of what you say on your videos and the podcast, but allow me to play devil's advocate for a minute... If your AR-15 is the same "functionally" as a rifle from the '50's... Why add all the "cosmetic" changes if it does NOTHING to improve the "functionality" of the weapon? As a matter of fact, why has the rifle (that are legally obtainable by law abiding americans) evolved at all? Why couldn't we all still own the same rifles we did in the 50's, 60's, etc.?
@billthesoftballguy That's about the same as asking why cars have progressed despite still fulfilling the same function today. We've learned things about ergonomics. We've learned that ammo doesn't have to weigh as much as it once did. We've learned it's better to not stick your finger in the trigger guard when manipulating the safety (I'm looking at you, M-14). And if you really want some irony- the AR-15 actually IS a design from the 1960's! LOL. We've just improved manufacturing, really.
It is physically impossible to hide your flash signature from your target, but thank you for immediately following it up with what it does hide it from, yourself, and for the specific purpose of retaining proper sight picture.
@swimmerbc You can clearly see the safety was on if you look for it at the beginning. And I drop the magazine. I keep my rifle in the condition the Air Force taught me- full magazine, on safe, empty chamber.
But you're absolutely right, and I should have cleared the gun on screen.
@floatingaxehead - No worries, I wasn't accusing you of anything, I just didn't think of the empty chamber. I've heard of a lot of accidents regarding weapons that were "unloaded".
BTW - thanks for doing what you did for this country in the Air Force. We really respect you for what you did.
@floatingaxehead I don't think you need to clear your gun on screen, furthermore, I have kept my glock with 15+1 for 5 years, and your kimber series two follows the same design. That guy sounds like a gun communist. Talking to you as if you were a 5 year old child. I am a coast guard hopefull and I have a bushmaster m4 a3, full mag, empty chamber, no safe....yeap I ride bareback...NO CHAMBERED ROUND NO PROBLEM.
@fmgunsmithing The Series II firing pin block actually functions quite differently from the Glock's method. I prefer the Glock method in a big way... It's more similar to the Colt Series 80. In any case, thanks for the kind words!
@jawbone83 no im not saying that in fact i think flamethowers should be illegal but there are more danquas things then guns heck in this country you can own a t-80 mbt or a chefitan mbt and a british recon car

I'm with JakeA on you not needing to make that hard of a parody on the "anti gun" people you talk about. Comparing the pro-gun movement to the civil rights struggle is...well, pretty damn ignorant, even if the case for banning weapons based on these features barely holds water. We're talking a hundred plus years of government sponsored discrimination of human beings, not keeping shiny, deadly toys out of your hands. stick to facts like the usefulness of these features, don't go for spectacle.
@Rathdei I did go into the usefulness of the features, and in the case of the bayonet lug the silliness for a civilian owner. As for the comparison to the civil rights movement being "ignorant"? You are aware that the Second Amendment is a Constitutionally guaranteed freedom, correct? Restricting that right based on cosmetics, is infringing on the civil rights of the potential owner, no matter their color, creed, etc.. Period. Self defense is a human right.
@floatingaxehead I think you misunderstood me on that last bit, I was actually complimenting you on going into the usefulness of the features (and sometimes the non-usefulness)! I'm not gonna get into a fight on youtube, so I'll just let you know I actually do enjoy your gun vids and I think you've got your head on straight as far as what guns are for, which goes a long way in my book.
Look at what TheGunsDoKillPeople says about nonreflective coating on guns on his channel
THE DARK NON REFLECTIVE PAINT - They make the bullets more deadly and the chemicals from the dark non reflective paint get absorbed into the human skin and poisons peoples blood to turn them into rednecks and want to go on a killing spree.
@jakea1983 Yes, I really did. I think we should demonstrate the anti's absurdity by being absurd and throwing their terms right back at them. And since my girlfriend is only 5'1", I truly feel that making a telescoping stock IS sexist, because it disallows her to fit the gun to her frame.
You say silly arguments. I say you haven't thought it through. Read yourself some Oleg Volk or Guy Smith and join us in actually DOING something rather than talking a good game. We could use your help.
Great Video and well said about the brady campaign. They are just a group of people throwing crap out there in the world saying guns evil. And if anything happen to one of those brady campaign members they are the first ones who will get a gun for what ever reason it might be.
It's just better to call the war on so-called "assault weapons as a war on technology. They've merely started a wear on a 100 year old design (semi-auto operation). Somehow, the bolt action rifle (perhaps a 150 year old design) was never targeted.
It is true that features like a detachable box magazine do make the rifle more effective for fighting. That's why our military uses them. Common sense should dictate, however, that since it can be reloaded in seconds, magazine size is irrelevant.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
100,000 people die from guns each year in us!! You are 43 times more likely to shoot yourself or a loved than to protect them (93 if you have a concealed permit 173 if you are a member of the NRA)!! 99% of criminals get their guns from gun shows, 95% of mexican drugs cartels get their guns from american gun dealers!!! And finally... GUNS MURDER INNOCENT PEOPLE!!! Support the Brady Campaign!! Max registration, confiscation and gun control to save lives!!!
What??? me paying $35 a year for the NRA membership ( a frickin plastic card) makes me 173 times more likely to shoot myself or a loved one... hahaha. Did you even think that through(or research) before posting some fabricated number by the gun grabbers?
I suspect you of brilliant satire, sir, because your arguments are hilarious. Even the Brady campaign claims the US number of deaths to be 30k, instead of 100k. Subtract suicides and the real number is closer to 14k. But that still includes lawful shootings of violent attackers. Whereas the number of lawful uses of a gun for self defense in the US is between 1.5 and 2.5 MILLION annually. So the argument that it would save lives is patently false.
The "43 times more likely" has been proven false over and over again. In court, no less. Your CCW and NRA member facts are equally as fabricated.
95% of cartels? LOL! First, the percentage of cartel guns coming from the US is much lower, and you know it. Second, they don't come from gun stores, but from the government. We sell arms to the Mexican military, they have deserters in a highly corrupt country, and military/gov't arms get stolen and in the hands of cartels. Not privately owned.
The pistol grip allows super accurate hip firing, we need to ban them. We need to ban the super high capacity 10 round magazine (Anything over 1 round is an assault weapon), the folding stocks that make easy killing... somehow. We also have to ban the barrel shrod, the dark non-reflecting paint (Which makes the bullets more deadly). Anything over a .22 (Which does nothing when you shoot someone with it),
try to catch a.22 fired from a bolt action gun at 25 yrds.
I think I can find a lot people here who would like to try that with you.
Accurate HIP firing? WTF. Keep yr nose out the with stuff and get yr facts together.
There is NO such thing as accurate hip firing.
AND in states where CCW is allowed the crime rates only go down.gee is that cause they all shoot each other and there is no one left to shoot or maybe cause the 'bad' guys move to places people do not have guns?! You TROLL
This is one of the most hilarious posts I have ever read! I think this is supposed to be satirizing the anti-gun crowd, because the hysteria and silliness of it certainly illustrates their knowledge of the issue! LOL. This may be my favorite post now. "Non-reflecting paint makes the bullet more deadly." That's funny!
@TheGunsDoKillPeople Non-Reflective paint .... Bullets are made from lead you idiot. Hah, .22s do nothing when you shoot someone with it? I'd like you to prove that on your own head. We're dealing with a master here.
Good video. Yes I think women should be able to shoot those quite well. Also, the joke that goes around saying these rather large rifles are easily concealed is hilarious. I mean if you wanted to conceal a firearm, get one a lot smaller. lol
You said you didn't want to be blinded by the flash, but if you get one good shot you don't need to fire again. But i would rather make sure i got him and know he's incapacitated.
On another note... i thinks it's cool and disturbing on your show how you talk about when guns are used to protect people: Cool because I like hearing about that kind of stuff and think it's cool to know people can defend themselves, and I find it DISTURBING because...i didn't see that on the news.
As it is right now, I'm guessing about $1600 over two years. I wouldn't say I saved money, other than I didn't buy a gun and then replace stuff, so I don't have an extra stock, etc. ust laying around. I got what I wanted the first time- that's where the savings, if any, really is.
The only form for me was a 4473 when I bought the lower receiver. If you build an SBR, you'll have to go through ATF paperwork to have your barrel under 16" total length.
Basically this is every guy's dream and I think a lot of the gun nazi's an anti gun people are idiots and don't know the realistics behind guns.. 10 or 30 rd mags don't mean shit. They judge weapons on their cosmetics instead of the weapon itself. Anti gun people are morons and honestly if the knew the facts instead of what makes a gun look more violent maybe they'd realize. 1 round ammo vs 100 rounds doesn't matter, its the intent to demolish a human life. 10 rd mag vs 30rd doesnt matter
It's just amazing to me. You can take a traditional hunting rifle and stick a "mean looking" synthetic stock and all of a sudden it looks more dangerous. All it is is misinformation and ignorance that makes people so afraid of "assault" rifles. Maybe we should start re-classifying chain saws with custom guards that look more aggressive as well.
The ultimate reason why banning firearms or there features will not work is because there is no such thing as "dangerous weapon" ... only dangerous people.
oh my god!!! finally someone who agrees with me!! ever since that damn "assault weapon" law came out i have had a true hatred for the ones responsible. this is, of course, because by their doing, i was not allowed to have a .22 cal 1022 rifle that somewhat resembled an "assault weapon" anyway keep up the great vids and the scaring of hippies!
Lasers on a rifle are about as useless a device as I can imagine. When you've got a firearm capable of reaching out 600 meters, you have to consider ballistic drop, the fact that your sighting system is going to be viewing another axis, etc. So why saddle yourself with a laser that points striaght and will only be on target at one given distance?
IR laser for CQB wearing NVGs is the only possible exception I can come up with. But if we're scaring hippies, you may be on to something afterall...
every good points all my guns have names so if im somewhere at the house the gf can say go an get so so come back say shes not here hand the gun from behind an use it handgun wise anyhow
damn right bro great video finally someone made a video that explains to the democrates and their kind about assault rifles which are and which are not again thanks alot
There's not really a cut-out, to the best of my knowledge. I can still mount a grenade launcher (in theory) by removing the bottom half of my hand guard.
I'm pretty sure it's the easily detachable magazine. That's one of the pieces you have to modify to make one of these CA-legal.
Oh! The cutout of barrel for the M4 profile? No, that barrel profile was never listed as an "evil feature". It's just that nobody to the best of my knowledge ever made that barrel profile without a threaded end.
This is for everywhere, in my opinion. While the '94 AWB was specific to the US, I think the principles behind why certain things have been banned in other countries is the same.
This gun not California-legal, and that brings me no small measure of joy! Out of all the guns I own, only 2 are CA-approved! I love living in a free state!
The anti-gun people were just using coded speech. It was not stupidity per se. but in effect describing a typical AR without being blunt. It's like how most racist roll nowadays. They wont say black or Mexican, they'll use code words.
Nice don't think I've seen Vera(SP?) before. Anti-gunners want laws based on emotion not logic. The bill they tried to pass in Washington State would classify 22lr rifles with thumbhole stocks as "assault weapons"
Can the government regulate, limit, or in any way effect people's right to free speach, religion, speedy and fair trial, etc etc? If you answer no, then by default you have to agree that they also can't restrict the right to bear arms which is given by the same document. Infact, the right to fair and speedy trial is the 6th amendment while the right to bear arms was put in before (2nd).
I'd bet the liberals would bitch at you for displaying a broken flintlock musket from the American revolution. I wouldn't even waste your energy entertaining their idiocy. They would grab the steak knife from your hand at dinner and make you eat like a dog for safety if they had their way. Keep on defending yourself brother.
First off, I must say your "Vera" is a very beautiful lady, indeed! I hope to own one of my own (I'm thinking of naming her "Delilah") someday when the economy turns back around here locally & I'm able to get back to work. Secondly, I know from your "Vera" that you are an AR fan, but what are your thoughts on some of the quality AK-style rifles out there (I'm not referring to the SKS, but rather the semi-auto-only AK like the ones ARSENAL puts out)? Just curious. Thanks for posting this! :)

Period. Self defense is a human right.
floatingaxehead 1 year ago
@floatingaxehead I think you misunderstood me on that last bit, I was actually complimenting you on going into the usefulness of the features (and sometimes the non-usefulness)! I'm not gonna get into a fight on youtube, so I'll just let you know I actually do enjoy your gun vids and I think you've got your head on straight as far as what guns are for, which goes a long way in my book.

Look at what TheGunsDoKillPeople says about nonreflective coating on guns on his channel
THE DARK NON REFLECTIVE PAINT - They make the bullets more deadly and the chemicals from the dark non reflective paint get absorbed into the human skin and poisons peoples blood to turn them into rednecks and want to go on a killing spree.
blorgyboy 1 year ago
Did you really need to call a ban on those features racist, sexist, etc?
Silly arguments... and I'm pro-gun.
Just sayin'
jakea1983 1 year ago
@jakea1983 Yes, I really did. I think we should demonstrate the anti's absurdity by being absurd and throwing their terms right back at them. And since my girlfriend is only 5'1", I truly feel that making a telescoping stock IS sexist, because it disallows her to fit the gun to her frame.
You say silly arguments. I say you haven't thought it through. Read yourself some Oleg Volk or Guy Smith and join us in actually DOING something rather than talking a good game. We could use your help.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
100,000 people die from guns each year in us!!
TheGunsDoKillPeople 1 year ago
@TheGunsDoKillPeople
What??? me paying $35 a year for the NRA membership ( a frickin plastic card) makes me 173 times more likely to shoot myself or a loved one... hahaha. Did you even think that through(or research) before posting some fabricated number by the gun grabbers?
kckckckckc88 1 year ago
I suspect you of brilliant satire, sir, because your arguments are hilarious. Even the Brady campaign claims the US number of deaths to be 30k, instead of 100k. Subtract suicides and the real number is closer to 14k. But that still includes lawful shootings of violent attackers. Whereas the number of lawful uses of a gun for self defense in the US is between 1.5 and 2.5 MILLION annually. So the argument that it would save lives is patently false.
floatingaxehead 1 year ago
The "43 times more likely" has been proven false over and over again. In court, no less. Your CCW and NRA member facts are equally as fabricated.
95% of cartels? LOL! First, the percentage of cartel guns coming from the US is much lower, and you know it. Second, they don't come from gun stores, but from the government. We sell arms to the Mexican military, they have deserters in a highly corrupt country, and military/gov't arms get stolen and in the hands of cartels. Not privately owned.

panzercom2002 1 year ago
The pistol grip allows super accurate hip firing, we need to ban them. We need to ban the super high capacity 10 round magazine (Anything over 1 round is an assault weapon), the folding stocks that make easy killing... somehow. We also have to ban the barrel shrod, the dark non-reflecting paint (Which makes the bullets more deadly). Anything over a .22 (Which does nothing when you shoot someone with it),
TheGunsDoKillPeople 1 year ago
try to catch a.22 fired from a bolt action gun at 25 yrds.
You TROLL

On another note... i thinks it's cool and disturbing on your show how you talk about when guns are used to protect people: Cool because I like hearing about that kind of stuff and think it's cool to know people can defend themselves, and I find it DISTURBING because...i didn't see that on the news.

how much did your AR cost to build?
also, are there forms involved when you are building your own gun? if so, what are they?
JDX2007 2 years ago
As it is right now, I'm guessing about $1600 over two years. I wouldn't say I saved money, other than I didn't buy a gun and then replace stuff, so I don't have an extra stock, etc. ust laying around. I got what I wanted the first time- that's where the savings, if any, really is.
The only form for me was a 4473 when I bought the lower receiver. If you build an SBR, you'll have to go through ATF paperwork to have your barrel under 16" total length.

mixwell1983 2 years ago
Basically this is every guy's dream and I think a lot of the gun nazi's an anti gun people are idiots and don't know the realistics behind guns.. 10 or 30 rd mags don't mean shit. They judge weapons on their cosmetics instead of the weapon itself. Anti gun people are morons and honestly if the knew the facts instead of what makes a gun look more violent maybe they'd realize. 1 round ammo vs 100 rounds doesn't matter, its the intent to demolish a human life. 10 rd mag vs 30rd doesnt matter
mixwell1983 2 years ago
Very good. Quite entertaining.
ReDact45 2 years ago
It's just amazing to me. You can take a traditional hunting rifle and stick a "mean looking" synthetic stock and all of a sudden it looks more dangerous. All it is is misinformation and ignorance that makes people so afraid of "assault" rifles. Maybe we should start re-classifying chain saws with custom guards that look more aggressive as well.
Great video, Floatingaxehead.

needs some lasers...
fantasticHorus 2 years ago
Lasers on a rifle are about as useless a device as I can imagine. When you've got a firearm capable of reaching out 600 meters, you have to consider ballistic drop, the fact that your sighting system is going to be viewing another axis, etc. So why saddle yourself with a laser that points striaght and will only be on target at one given distance?
IR laser for CQB wearing NVGs is the only possible exception I can come up with. But if we're scaring hippies, you may be on to something afterall...
floatingaxehead 2 years ago
The laser isn't about being practical or useful... it's about pissing off hippies.
They see movies, with guns that have lasers so lasers are obviously terribly scary.
fantasticHorus 2 years ago
I thought I made that point more clearly at the end of my reply. Apologies. And yeah, for that purpose it would be hilarious!

ArbalestRaptor 2 years ago
There's not really a cut-out, to the best of my knowledge. I can still mount a grenade launcher (in theory) by removing the bottom half of my hand guard.
I'm pretty sure it's the easily detachable magazine. That's one of the pieces you have to modify to make one of these CA-legal.
floatingaxehead 2 years ago
The cutout in front of the front sight post is what you mean right?
ArbalestRaptor 2 years ago
