  • Nice to see Tony finding his "roots"/destiny :)

  • @LeathalWorksInc No, It's the beginning of the song, "I see faces and traces of home"

  • I'm sure Mr Gabriel approves, i know i do.

  • The reason Tony loves Peter. I reckon.

  • I see traces and places of home.................

  • ye, it's in 7/8, but it also contains

    bridges in 9/4, 3/4 and...17/8 (3:35 riff)!

    cool

  • i gues he says the introduction of the song.... i see faces and traces of home.... BACK IN NY CITYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • They're saying "I've seen places and traces of home."

  • I was just about to write "Fantastic drummer!" when I discovered that he also sang.

    ... Incredible.

  • All the more that this song is in 7/8 rhythm. That's something!

  • @operadiversa do not forget the 17/8 middle part please!

  • Man, it is beyond me how ANYONE can manage drumming and singing lead at the same time. Good job by Jerry Marotta. Although I like Gabriels voice more of course. But still their performance is great.

  • In 7/8 time, no less!

  • well occasionally, even Phil Collins does that

  • Great choice Tony. One of my favorite Genesis songs. This would sound great redone by somebody good make it a little more updated. Maybe I will. This should of been a hit song but maybe it was for the best that it was not.

  • TONY..you are the best

  • I like Jerry Marotta's voice very much. Actually I their/this version more than the original Genesis one

  • what!!!? ok.

  • Awesome vesion! I saw this band perform this song at knitting factory in NYC just before the mets and yankees were about to start the world series in 2000. In introduction tony said that he wrote this song for that subway series. A fib I forgive being a longtime genesis fan.

  • Thanks. Lee's Palace in Toronto. Jerry Marotta on drums, Jesse Grese guitar, Larry Fast synth, Pete Levin keyboards

  • Awesome! The funny thing about this is, Tony, Jerry and Larry both played with Peter Gabriel, and here they are covering a song he did with his old band! :D Thanks for posting this.

  • Cool! Where was this shot? Who was playing with Levin?
