Why not study nutrition instead of allopathic medicine,it's the future of real health... you are very bright and we need more people like you in so-called "alternative" medicine - See Patrick Holford and I.O.N. / The Institute of Optimal Nutrition (a 3 year course) and please give up the Diet Coke, or at least Google "aspartame". It's deadly.
Allopathic medicine is for me, have my unconditional place to study it now too. I work for Nutrition&Dietetics in the NHS at the moment before I head to uni and whilst I can see that it is interesting, I would not be fulfilled in the same way I will be with the challenges, in depth knowledge + variety I'm going to gain & experience over the following decades.
It's like asking a teacher who has always wanted to teach primary school children to be head of year at 6th form, occassionally teaching just one subject, same type of career but not for them. Do you work in that field?
As for the diet coke - aware of aspartame and the numerous other nasties in your average can. Don't smoke, drink excessively, I exercise daily, don't drink reg tea or coffee...allowed one vice! :D
Aspartame has a very dubious history (Pentagon/warfare). It's essentially a Neurotoxin, with it your way beyond having a "vice". Smoking & caffeine is mild in comparison. Best to drink regular Coke if you must have it. The 'evil' Donald Rumsfeld played a nefarious part in getting Aspartame into public use.
NHS Dietetics is on a Kindergarten level (IMHO)compared to what they study @ I.O.N.-it's hard to know where to start in reply.
Forgive me. I don't think Big Pharma has the answer.
Quote: "In 1981, the newly appointed FDA Commissioner, Arthur Hull Hayes, ignored the negative ruling and approved aspartame for dry goods. As recorded in the Congressional Record of 1985, then CEO of Searle Laboratories Donald Rumsfeld said that he would "call in his markers" to get aspartame approved. Rumsfeld was on President Reagan's transition team and a day after taking office appointed Hayes. No FDA Commissioner in the previous 16 years had allowed aspartame on the market"
>>>"Aspartame is a drug, not an additive ... It interacts with other drugs, has a synergistic & additive effect with MSG, & is a chemical hyper-sensitization agent. Dr. John Olney, who founded the field of neuoscience called excitotoxicity, attempted to stop the approval of aspartame with Attorney James Turner back in 1996. FDA's own toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross told Congress that without a shadow of a doubt, aspartame can cause brain tumors & brain cancer"
>>> "...and violated the Delaney Amendment which forbids putting anything in food that is known to cause Cancer. Detailed information on this can be found in the Bressler Report (FDA report on Searle)."
Heavy Stuff eh?
Rumsfeld is also the bloke who took WMD's to Sadam, Nukes to Pakistan and currently owns a lot of stock Baxters who make the Tamiflu vaccine... anybody see a pattern here? War, Bio-Weaponry, Eugenics... nice man!
Shame about your course, but I admire your ability to make the decision and drop out and do what's best instead of what's easiest. Good luck with med school! I love the where's waldo reference, waldo was a staple of my childhood, quite cherished. I have been trying to watch as much Brasseye as I can find, complete shame good shows in the UK don't make it to the states. I like the LBW bit, I figured out the cricket reference (yay google) but that didn't clarify much not knowing your initials =]
Yep, it was an amazing place! Council tax is an evil sum of money levied on you per month (or quater if you choose) which goes towards the local authority/borough/council's efforts for facilities in your area. It is huge per person though, and coupled with massively inflated rents in london, the credit crunch, general COL and the fact some areas never see the benefits of their money it hurts - like getting your eye poked.
My decision was duly researched. 4 year grad courses prioritise science based degrees. There are complications with student loan companies if I continued. I couldn't afford to pay for second and third year degree and then another 5 years too - by leaving when I did I got all the £3000 back for this year. And most of all, I wasn't happy in the (quite franky rubbish) course.
Alright, well i don't want to take up the whole wall but stopping to drink coke was a nice touch. it made me laugh, well cause i think thats something i would do while making a video. Cool, its very scary but definitely go after what you really want to do in life. enjoy what you do and in the mean time just chill and relax and chill some more. peace!
p.s. are those ur ipod headphones! just noticed that, lol. im using them right now :)
hey, good job on the video! i hate vista too! cause it makes me answer several questions before i can rename a folder but whatever....its all good. hey as for school, thats cool......wait and the msn or window opening up was pretty cool too. nice sound effects. ok, so now back to school! im sure that was a hard decision to make. i remember when one of my friends was talking with me about it so yeah, kudos.
I understand the bitter frustration of Vista. I had it on my computer for about 6 months, couldn't stand it, eventually I made the switch to a Mac.
With Uni, I was always torn between English and Psychology. It's hard when you don't know where to put your focus. I think it's great you had the courage to make a change. A medical degree will keep you busy though, so I'd enjoy your year off as much as you can. Relax, travel, try new things. Just have fun.
LegBeforeWicket is a cricket term (used to play for middlesex) and it is also something me and my sister use LBW (Lauren Bryony W____________ *our surname*) Silly really, but it's stuck. Thank you for your comments David you are always a gent!
You are such a charming, earnest and interesting person. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... young people like you give me hope that the world is not necessarily going to hell in a handbasket. Welcome back, and I've always wondered... what does LegBeforeWicket mean? Guess I could google it... or ask Hotforwords. :-)
i want to put it into you !

Glad you enjoyed your time here. Thanks for the edification. I do have another question - what is the general COL? Do hope all is well...cheers

Cost of living. I recommend working 7 days a week, not to earn money as such, but to reduce the chance of spending any!

It would have been simplest to just graduate and then ultimately take a 4 year graduate medical course.
