firstly its 1 trillion not 1.5. The 1.5 number is based on an anonymous aide to the congressmembers. The non-partisan CBO says that it is 1 trillion. Secondly, it is being paid for completely by taxing the rich and by cutting medicare. There is no debt.
Thirdly its not universal healthcare it is the public OPTION. So if it sucks, the public can opt out of it.
it is very clear that public healthcare is cheaper than private option which means that more people will save money which means they will spend it and improve the economy. Also the rich will pay for the cost and as I have already shown increasing the tax on the rich has NOT hurt the economy in the past. So this is only positive for the country not negative.
Also by getting preventative care, costs of healthcare drops, so the rich will not pay as much as we are paying right now.

Regarding capitalism, it is true that I may not have the perfect view on how it functions. However, there have been times where CEOs of major businesses pocket their money while saying that they do not have enough to uphold it. The government has to bail them out. Why should we let the owners run their business if they have to rely on the government to pay for it? Lowering taxes can actually bring in more money through economic growth. Lowering taxes leads to more consumer spending and investing which leads to more jobs and both people and companies making more money. When people and businesses make more money, government collects more since taxes are based on percentages. Also, if more people have jobs and make more money, they become less dependent on government handouts so government can safely cut spending for programs.
Lowering taxes leads less public service which leads to lower living standards and require the average cityzen to work more to get the same. Putting higher taxes allows for more support which leads to higher living standards which leads to better educated people with better job options and more buisnesses started by more people.
Denmark have some of the highest taxes in the world but we are the happiest country with almost no poor people at all.

plus if i were to hire someone to place my solar panels on the roof it would cost me $3000 plus $1500 in permit fees. my overall cost to produce a solar system with permits and requirements would be $15,000, when it could have been $10,500 and would pay me back in 16-18 years. please tell me how am i suppose to go green if the state has laws like these and over charge permits. i live in 20906 MD. another failed change from obama.

Delayed due to overload and inefficiency. I'm worried that people will just get thrown into waiting list for treatments and the country drowns in debt. I just believe the government should focus on giving Americans the capability of getting healthcare for themselves and their families and it is possible through, let's say, tax credits and economic growth. Government programs are only suppose to be safety nets for those in dire need who still don't have the capability of taking themselves.
Also, the conservative way of living involves hard work to take care of both oneself and one's own family and empowering the individual instead of forcing people to depend on government programs for everything by taking away their capability of taking care of themselves and their families and bailing out the reckless at hard working folks' expense.
Yeah..not to mention making the richer even richer and the poorer even poorer..killing tons of people in unnecessary wars both on our side and on the opponents. Dude..even I work hard but how the fuck are you pleased with seeing owners make way more than you..when you don't get paid shit and have to live without any medical benefits? You should be begging for this as well.
The only job you start off on top at is a professional swimmer. You work your way up. You educate yourself. Owners make more because they are the owners! They built companies from the bottom up. Everyone has to struggle to make it, it sounds like you need to learn how to make it without looking for a handout!
I, along with many other Americans, would rather have the capability of getting private medical benefits than be forced to depend on government programs (especially inefficient ones). There are ways of helping people get benefits, services, and medicine without expanding the government like giving tax credits to cover medical expenses to both workers and employers and encouraging economic growth to help people get jobs that can give them benefits or better pay.
The government does not run medical facilities. They just pay for them. The only change your country would have if they had universal healthcare is that the government would be the ones paying for it. No one would prevent you to go to a private doctor. But you would quickly realise there is no difference. We healthcare is very efficient and it is by law your right to get treatment within an hour max. I have never waited more then 15 minutes though.

Why don't we run a poll and ask people if given the opportunity to choose between medicaid/medicare or a private HMO/PPO- I wonder how many would choose the "public option." Also, I am well aware of the fact that health care providers charge Americans absurdly. I'm well aware that we need some sort of health care reform. But this reform that Obama is currently trying to push down our throats is absolutely not the answer. Europe has a working universal health care system. Canada does not. What Obama's trying to shove is a Canadian-style system which will, on top of sucking, put the country another 1 and a half trillion dollars into the budget hole.

firstly its 1 trillion not 1.5. The 1.5 number is based on an anonymous aide to the congressmembers. The non-partisan CBO says that it is 1 trillion. Secondly, it is being paid for completely by taxing the rich and by cutting medicare. There is no debt.
Thirdly its not universal healthcare it is the public OPTION. So if it sucks, the public can opt out of it.

it is very clear that public healthcare is cheaper than private option which means that more people will save money which means they will spend it and improve the economy. Also the rich will pay for the cost and as I have already shown increasing the tax on the rich has NOT hurt the economy in the past. So this is only positive for the country not negative.
Also by getting preventative care, costs of healthcare drops, so the rich will not pay as much as we are paying right now.

You need to think outside the box. When a lib says "cutting funding" they mean not increasing funding as much as they want it to be increased.
When a lib say cutting taxes will decrease revenues they fail to understand that increasing taxes has a much more adverse affect on revenues, especally at the state level. Businesses and people are fleeing Cal.. How can the state increase revenues if there is no one to pay them.

Currently 4% of our entire population is really wealthy. I would careless about taking money from anyone but sooner or later it will get to a point where the large businesses will overwhelm us. A point where our wages won't be nearly enough in buying any of their products. One prime example, poverty threshold right now leaves some people without homes to live in and without the ability to get medical services.

However, there have been times where CEOs of major businesses pocket their money while saying that they do not have enough to uphold it. The government has to bail them out. Why should we let the owners run their business if they have to rely on the government to pay for it? Here are some Gov businesses. The Post Office, Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac, Amtrack. They ALL operate in the red. They all never bring in enough money to run themselves and so we have to subsidize all of them with our taxes. This is insanity.
Now the gov wants to make cars??? I can only hope that in the 2010 & 2012 elections we can reverse this Obama nightmare before its too late.

Lowering taxes can actually bring in more money through economic growth. Lowering taxes leads to more consumer spending and investing which leads to more jobs and both people and companies making more money. When people and businesses make more money, government collects more since taxes are based on percentages. Also, if more people have jobs and make more money, they become less dependent on government handouts so government can safely cut spending for programs.

Denmark have some of the highest taxes in the world but we are the happiest country with almost no poor people at all.

plus if i were to hire someone to place my solar panels on the roof it would cost me $3000 plus $1500 in permit fees. my overall cost to produce a solar system with permits and requirements would be $15,000, when it could have been $10,500 and would pay me back in 16-18 years. please tell me how am i suppose to go green if the state has laws like these and over charge permits. i live in 20906 MD. another failed change from obama.

I, along with many other Americans, would rather have the capability of getting private medical benefits than be forced to depend on government programs (especially inefficient ones). There are ways of helping people get benefits, services, and medicine without expanding the government like giving tax credits to cover medical expenses to both workers and employers and encouraging economic growth to help people get jobs that can give them benefits or better pay.

The government does not run medical facilities. They just pay for them. The only change your country would have if they had universal healthcare is that the government would be the ones paying for it. No one would prevent you to go to a private doctor. But you would quickly realise there is no difference. We healthcare is very efficient and it is by law your right to get treatment within an hour max. I have never waited more then 15 minutes though.

Government funded hospitals do healthcare alot cheaper. The cost of operations in USA is almost 10 times that of a operation in Denmark. The government is not trying to make profits therefor it's cheaper. Any other questions ?

I've seen "free" government-run health care in other countries. It encourages "medical recreation." People go to the doctor over petty health issues-they'll go to the doctor if they sneeze even once.
Once they get to the doctor, they are given some BS diagnosis and some BS cure just to get them through the system ASAP. Oh, and you wait in line, ALL DAY. Going to the doctor is just like going to the DMV in said system.
