You can wrap the jaws of the needle nose with a little electrical tape to help keep them from scratching up the armetures during this...or just be careful and it will be fine...if you need excessive trim to hover mechanically adjusting the ends of the servo arms may be needed...grav the metal just under the plastic arm ends and screw them in for shorter throw out for longer a couple rotations equals several trim possitions...so go slow and try it out till it's close to no trim needed
An important tip is when popping the servo arm ball links on the swash plate arm balls "gently" grab the arms just behind the balls a little with some small needle nose pliars to take stress off the swashplate arms...be carefull not to chew- up the plastic swash but it just helps you be able to pop the linkages back on without any stress on the swash armetures
Any chance of you posting a video for REPLACING THE SWASHPLATE? I prefer to mechanically trim models before using transmitter trims; and so had to adjust both pushrods. Unfortunately, while attempting to refit the links, BOTH 'balls' broke off the swashplate. So now I have to replace the swashplate before I've even really flown my new mCX2!
Please consider beefing up the ball-links on your parts. Even Jim broke his!
I'm also looking for a swashplate replacement video. I was hoping this video would cover that but it didn't. Horizon: we would appreciate a video on replacing the swashplate, thanks.
Cool video, I just bought the Volitation Helicopter and being me I crashed it up a few times now I need to replace some part so i'll be checking out these and other cool videos thanks.
Very helpful. The MCX is my first heli and it is very tough but after a dozen or more heavy landings (ie, I deliberately cut power to land hard rather than have the rotors hit furniture etc), I broke a ball off the top blade, your video got me flying again in 10 minutes without even needing parts! Swapped to the unbroken ball. Great help!
Just got my MCX yesterday and I can't stop flying it. It's my first heli and I've crashed it more times than I can count. One thing I discovered is that the two electric motor sometimes get knocked out of position, causing the main gears to bind. All I had to do was push them up so the bottom of the motor sits flush with the bottom of the circular bracket and it's back to normal. It's so easy to fly and extremely durable too. Definitely FUN and worth the price!! And anyone CAN fly one!
I had the same issue. I unscrewed the two screws that hold the bottom gear onto the shaft, and tighted it up a little bit. There is a bushing with a screw on it just below the lower blade which I loosened, pushed down the main shaft, and retightened everything and haven't had any issues since. The only issue I still have is that when the copter lands hard, the two motors sometimes pop down a little bit, and I have to realign them to the two lower gears, otherwise no other issues to speak of.
hey thanks, My right motor wasnt hitting the gear and i have to get a new motor. i think for mine the shaft came down because of the motor gear wasnt touching the other gear. When i fix the motor and if the shaft keeps falling down ill use your trick
Hi to change the glo parts just take off the old non glo parts and remember what go where and replace with glo parts, simple and job done, but if you are still unsure check out nightflyyer channel as i'm sure he has a video showing it or he will help you if you ask nicely.

Great fun - flies it tiniest room
Crashed 20 times before I needed a part - net curtains I think did the damage
TIP: Tiny rubber rings are great for putting on skid - so they don't skid - spot landings
