PB one of my favorite conservatives but I don't always agree with him. He is correct about Palin; she's the only reason that McCain had any chance to win. McCain knew he needed something dramatic to get back in the race and she provided it.

On the other hand, Buchanan always seems to be warning of culutural/political strife. Here, he speaks about a "civil war" within the GOP. The party and the voters will decide on the direction the GOP takes without a political bloodbath.

The economy will be an unmitigated disaster no matter who wins. It will be worse than the great depression. There will be hyper-inflation.  Obama will be hated. Racists will say, "see". It'll be 50 years before a non white is elected president again.

I there is one thing I can agree with Buchanan on it is the importance of upcoming supreme court appointments. Except that getting in justices that emphasize challening and progressive issues is sorely needed rather than sorely lacking.

i realize they don't choose what issues fall into their laps but just one example could be to establish the rights of homosexual on a federal level.

But why should "left-of-center liberals" be allowed to impose their radical agenda on the US? That is precisely what the Supreme Court have been doing, using their power to impose liberal Leftist laws on states, on isues like abortion, which the states dont want!

No the Supreme Court has a clear conservative majority. Plus issues like abortion and gay marriage are basic and fundamental rights of ALL citizens. The structure of our constitutional democracy was established to protect minorities from majority rule. These fundamental rights are recognized by ALL developed nations, we're still catching up on the gay rights issue and there are certainly a number of other issues in which we have to catch up to our modernized counterparts.

the Supreme Court has been in the pockets of the liberal Left for decades,which made it impossible to protect the US from the family breakdown/moral chaos,of "modernised" Europe! Abortion isnt a basic right,Ireland is a "developed nation" and bans abortion! it's an act of murder,but Left-wing lawyers conjured up a "right"to abortion that never existed,out of the Constitution,to impose it on states!The only "right"those of abnormal sexual tastes should have,is the right to tolerance,NOT equality!

As far as the abortion issue goes we've each made up our minds on the issue and we won't convince eachother otherwise. But why must the woman always bear the burden...

Because Nature has,perhaps unfairly,decreed that only women can give birth! That may give them more reponsibility than men, and therefore will always mean that women who sleep around, suffer more than men do, but thats just a sad fact of Nature! Every single conservative reform has been blocked by these wrongly-appointed liberals, until Alito's apointment enabled the entirely sensible partial-birth abortion ban..no country in Europe allows this disgusting late-term procedure!

Any decent lawyer will never cite the constitution to defend abortion they cite Roe v Wade Maybe because they preach ignorance and struggle to preserve family values that have long ago been destroyed by high divorce rates which by the way are lower in the liberal North and California than in the bible belt

divorce rates rose because liberal "no-fault" divorce laws,made divorce too easy,thus devaluing marriage!the Roe v Wade lawyers dug a right to abortion which didnt exist out of the constitution,the R v W judgment was unconstitutional,as many libertarians like Ron Paul have pointed out,it enabled taxpayer-funded abortion to be imposed on individual states!as for STD's,conservative states oppose contraception,but are enmeshed in a culture which opposes lefelong human love,and supports selfishness!

It makes me wonder if the prospect of a black president has not actually caused all of the stock market problems. If Obama had not stood for president, then I seriously doubt that all of these problems would have occurred. If he gets in, God help America.

I dont know what to say. I just hope everything works out after this election , whoever wins. This election has a lot of us scared to death, to the point of citizens stockpiling assault rifles. This is getting WAY out of hand people... Time has always prevailed.
