  • Moxy played the states before 1977. I saw them open for Black Sabbath in October 1976.

  • HOLLY CRAP !!!! Can't bellieve i just discovered this band....30 years later - thanks to I-Tunes. WOW!!! Great sound, nice voice, good songs. I can't bellieve they don't play MOXYs songs on the radio. Thank God for i-tunes, i can get their songs from there and listen what i missed all these years.

  • I grew up with Buzz in Streetsville and is one person I really miss. Before Moxy and Sherman and Peabody he was the only band at the Club Bluenote and was the best of the blues guys. Miss you Buzz......Darrell

  • Wow thx for the trip back in time

  • Buzzy, you guys didnt show at Sunken Gardens this past weekend. All ok?

  • I love Moxy..I love this album, this song. But I love even more the guitar on this album. It is actually Tommy Bolin, and in the leads you can hear the smooth flow of his playing so prominent on his solo albums. It really makes this album one of my all time favourites.

  • after bon scott died and acdc looked at buzz shearmen but was having problems

  • A message from all the teens in the 70's who bought a shitty guitar and only knew 3-string power chords and played along to Moxy, thinking and dreaming of being on stage and snagging

muliple hotties - We Are Eternally Grateful.

  • can anyone play this on guitar?

  • @JustSomeGuyOk yea i used to play this in the 70's I couldn't tell you how as i play bye ear they didn't have tab or sheet music for rock in those day's just had to pick up the needle a million times

  • Long Live Joe Anthony !!! RIP

  • Earl johnson and I are good friends.. I was his first guitar student. I am now considered his apprentice! so check out my profile once i've uploaded some music. In fact, I've played that guitar he has at 3:50 several times.

  • It dont get any better than this.....Moxy Rocks!!!!

  • Love this song!

  • The first time I saw Moxy was at the Armadillo in Austin Texas, man that was one bad ass show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It`s a great band. Tommy Bolins lead guitar on the first album fantastic. Rock on from Sweden

  • i grew up in Cochrane Ontario like most teens here we grew up with out dads rockin out to Out Of The Darkness,Ridin' High, Moonrider. 24 years later i had the opportunity to assist in seting up the equipment, this intitled a backstage pass, while backstage i had my pass signed and a signed cd and to top it all off i had the chance to meet the band for the first time after listening for so many years. For me this was a dream come true

  • Love Moxy, Thanks!!

  • Moxy rules!!! I saw them the other night here in San Antonio. These guys always put on a terrific show.

  • Checking out MOXY in San Antonio 4-23-10 Siesta Fest 2010.!!!

  • SA is still the bomb for concerts. I live in Austin and I am thankful SA is on an hour down the road. I have seen DIO, Maiden, Motley, Ratt and Michael Schenker within the last year.

  • i just discover the band

    and i love it

  • When did they play in S. A.???? S.A. Wasz da sh#t back in da day!!!

  • When did they play in SA???? OH, I dunno, since 74 and since. About 74/75, Boston opened before they were anything, then Moxy, then Black Sabbath. Row two, on the floor, in the Hemisfair Arena.

    God bless Joe/Lou Productions!

  • And Boston great show!!!!

  • Even though I'm munerider, I sometimes forget how incredible this song is!

  • Moxy are simply one of the greatest rock bands ever and Buzz Shearman was certainly one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time.

    MOXY - Ridin' High Forever...

  • I saw VH1's Greatest Hard Rock songs and i can't believe this band or song was not in there, not even some Budgie nor some Riot.

  • Amen. I doubt that 99% of people employed by VH1 know who Moxy is. That also goes for Eddie Trunk who probably barely knows who Tommy Bolin is.

  • I had the first two Moxy records back in the 70's. One of Canada's best hard rock bands ever and certainly one of my favourites. Years ago I was eating late night in a Denny's Restaurant and Buzz Shearman was sitting across from me. This was after he'd left the band. It was one of the first times being in the prescence of a celebrity. I went home and cranked up 'Moon Rider' (which is my favourite Moxy song).

    R.I.P. Buzz Shearman

    Gone but not forgotten.

  • Omg I would have died to see Moxy w/Ac/dc '77, LOL @13 yo.

I'm glad to see the mention of San Antonio's Kiss & Joe Anthony here. Texas has the full range of good taste in music.

Keep up the good fight you djs in Tx!

I still have this Moxy on vinyl in perfect shape.

  • Earl Johnson is THE MAN, a real quality musician.

I've been playing weekly gigs with a band of his, definitely has to be the most solid guitarist I've ever played with.

  • Im 16 and i love this type of rock! theyre playing in SA on Sat. Im totall y gonna go see them

  • i saw them tonight!

    they were awesome!

  • This song was played in every stoner's car at my High School in the mid-70's! Long live Buzz, we miss you!

  • Kinda like this song...if my name tells you anything! SA, 70s ROCKED!

  • Congrats on Buddy's retirement!!!! Just heard. While you guys were playin at Pops in St. Louis, he took the time to shake my hand during this song!! That was very kool!! Excellent show too!

Thanks guys and keep it keepin on!!!

  • hey put Darren Doerr in there as the drummer

hes my dad but in 77 he was getting ready to join the militairy ok buzz.

  • Buzz looks sorta like Bon Scott.

  • Awesome solos from Tommy Bolin in this song

  • There is no doubt that this album kick aasss. Thanks to late Phil Somishka, we would have never known this group ever existed!

  • Great sounding record.

  • The Canadien Zeppelin huh? Thats kool as hell! Moxy Rocks!! Seen them a few yrs ago and they still sound just like the album does !!

  • Sorta Zeppilin..but in (No way) is this singer anywhere near Robert Plant..sounds more like Roberts grandson...that is if he has one,,

  • i listened to moxy inthe early 80's. this is the first time i've heard them since. what a rush!

  • MOXY , they should get more RADIO AIRPLAY- send email to your local stations! ----MOXY is the Canadian Zeppelin!

  • Man, the memories of this rockin' album - Corpus Christi, Texas in the 70's!!! What times!! Southern Missouri and the Ozark National Scenic Riverways is now home and I occasionally get "Old School" on the young fools that think THEY are rockin - though GUITAR HERO has turned the younger generation on to music they never knew existed. Happy Trails y'all. Tom

  • I love this whole album... I would say I wore the grooves out from playing soooo much... Cochrane is Moxy's little Texas

  • I always loved this tune. 8 Trax Rule!

  • ps... Joe Anthony would be spinning in his grave if he knew this!!!!

  • bahn scott had the right idea, but how could ANYONE forget to add STARZ and ANGEL to that list when we were rocking in the 70's? sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh!!!!

  • supertruckertx:You are correct. Guess the only thing for me to do is wade through my vinyl collection. I wound up with all of the vinyl that my siblings and I had over the years. No telling what all is in there. All of us that were able to experience this great music coming out over the airwaves, Joe Anthony cranking out one song after another, turning us on to one great band after another. I can only hope that the music is discovered by those younger than I, and they keep it alive.

    Peace :)

  • dude thank you for taking me back

  • Did Tommy Bolin replace Joe Walsh on the James Gang?,just wonder if it's the same James Gang with Joe Walsh, this is a great song, great Bands have come out of Canada, thnx for sharing this classic tune,5 stars!

  • San Antonio in the 70's. Moxy, Legs Diamond and Budgie. Good times.

  • I'm from san antonio, texas, and your right those bands are awesome. remember when joe anthony use to play all the best rock when no one else was.

  • yes this band got tons of airplay in texas..... one of my fav all time bands

  • bahnscott: Indeed!!! Thanks to Joe Anthony and being able to get KISS FM and KNAC AM (probably different stations now) up to Austin. We were able to hear all the bands. Your list names some great ones. UFO, Triumph and AC/DC stand out in my mind, especially Moxy and AC/DC (their first US gig) playing at the Armadillo for $3.50! VERY good times.
