I dapped an 11" rainbow today in Pisgah. It was in a log jam pool about 8 feet in diameter, sippin' midges off the top. No other way to present the fly but dap, its a great technique.
i will have to try this technique on some of the small creeks I know in Victoria, Australia. We have fond memories of a couple of days we stayed in a small cabin on the outskirts of Gatlinberg in the Smoky Mountains when we visited the US in 1992. Wasn't fishing then but I'd definitely take along a fly rod next time we visit.

No question it's a great technique developed a long time ago, but still useful today!
