great! but - as someone said - the ad industry only has itself to blame = we lost (self) respect. (Y&R used to have a pic of a backbone on the wall where i worked...)
none was better positioned to take the lead in the d-revolution than we were
well, maybe the lead was taken and maybe it's by definition and appropriately 'everyone'
and the copernican communication revolution is not something that could take place on the avenue or its many sidestreets in diff lands ...
I worked for a while in the late 90's designing phone book (remember them?) ads for a large telco. I also worked at some agencies as a freelancer so this song really hits home, but in a good way. I think it's hysterical.
Haha.. Funny one. Remember that Internet per definition also fits inside Media. Also, brand awareness will always be of interest. Soon there will be ways also to measure time spent in front of a banner. Before Internet, there wouldn't been any advertising in print when telemarketing boomed back in 90s, purely result-based - there still was ads in print.
Cost per watched second of ones ad/brand attention-time, eCPM=eCPMinute . :)
Also been a journalist once. It was interesting, but
was also glad to get out of it.
When searching with "circulation down ad rates up" one comes straight to a number of articles, from 2004, ... the media never tell or mention some aspects. Have fun getting a proper explanation as to why and how.
Frigging brilliant and hilarious, man! Great choice of song & pics, and the lyrics were funny and so spot-on! And you did it in one day? Amazing! Really appreciate the time and effort you took! Cheers!
You don't know what I watch. A huge lie. Does traditional advertising work. Yes. Does it work well. NO!!!!!
The president of the Ad Federation of America told a convention about three years ago that advertising agencies get a poor return on investment. Most agencies suck at messaging, so even if the message is seen, it doesn't matter. It is a dying industry. Get used to it. --- I hear there are waiters jobs available in NYC, Chicago & LA.

Lluis, what makes you think Catalonian is a language suitable to debate media and advertising with an international audience?... You're not that international... so please stop sniffing your own farts and if you've got something worth sharing with the world make sure it's understood...Thanks.
Briliant. But agencies, press and TV's still don't get it. There are always different reasons - price of paper, crisis or that people do not read anymore :)
The video definitely demonstrates the changing landscape of how, we as individuals, get our information. This has huge implications, especially with the next generation set to come of age with iPhones, Kindles, computers - all digital. Maybe I'm old fashioned, I do like the paper on a lazy Sunday. The good old days!
Good effort, but message not clear enough and too long for me.
Wish someone would make a video conveying to journalists the importance of their work and how if done right can make our world a better place. Too many journalists and editors turn out nothing but hype and sensationalism. Thank goodness for Indy Media and a few papers that are worth reading.
Very well done. I worked in advertising (on the creative side) and this hits the target. acro47, if you have been hearing this message for years, why haven't you adapted accordingly? Newspapers, etc. have always been content providers with some ads thrown in. I ignore the ads in magazines just like I ignore the ads online or on TV. If I want to learn about a product, I'll do my homework. I don't need some "Mad Man" telling me what I need to buy.
Very creative - and informative. I have passed the link to this along to many people. Not only is it informative, but it is a good jam. Well done, sir(s)/ma'am.

I sat through 4 agonizing minutes before deciding I'd rather have a root canal without anesthesia. Just because something is creative or on-point does not mean it's good. This business puts food on my table, and we have had this message blasted in our faces every day for the past few years. If you want to entertain me, give me a catchy tune or some thought-provoking words, not a doomsday message I've already heard literally a thousand times or more....
Very very clever, but I'm about positive that's the original soundtrack. How can they get away with it? Or is that Don McLean doing the remake?? Sure sounds like it!
This is cutting, sprawling, fantastic and outstanding. If you are taking on this kind of a song, wow! It is also a 15-year-review of what has happened. Really smart. Thank you.
I loved this, except for one glaring thing: "American Pie" is a well-established rock'n'roll standard. There's nothing Blues about this song, neither the rhythm nor the chord progressions, calling it Mad Avenue Blues is as wacky as calling it Mad Avenue Rap or Mad Avenue Light Opera.
As for theme & lyrics, that part is a real treat.
Brillian!! The lyric is just perfect and so creative! The only thing is that I don't find that the video/image is at the same level, you should had work this more... for instance don't repeat images, it doesn't work.
