9mm is an awesome round. Low recoil, fast, high mag capacity, a variety of cartridge options . . . The list goes on and on. Worry more about your shot placement then your caliber. Just carry .380 and above. 9mm got a bad rap when it first came out and ammo makers hadn't perfected expanding hollowpoint technology.
