I dont remember the episode name but I am pretty sure its the one where they are going down the river to escape the bad guys and something happens to gabby. So Xena had to leave her in the cave to try and get help...the cave was right by a waterfall if I remember right and was almost impossible to escape from. Sorry that I couldnt give you more. I haven't watched Xena in 5 years now and am just recently watching Season 1 ep 1 right now ;)

Of course It's clear they're soul mates. The question is if they were lovers or not. Personally I think they're relationship may have been physical at times, but that it wasn't of great importance. People seem to think that you can only be in a relationship with someone if sex is involved. I think the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle is far beyond the physical world. Just being with each other is enough for them, but they may have expressed their love physically, who knows?

I only found out about the program a couple of days ago when I was looking for a song on here and found one to this show. And I thought, this looks good. So for two days I've been watching it religiously on the internet. I wondering why I had not seen it before but then it said It was first aired in 1995 so I suppose I was only 1 then (:

If you don't know the ending to the series by now you're not a real fan. It's been over and done with for years. All six seasons and the 10th anniversary edition are already out. So quit being mean, because dickiesue was just voicing what we all feel. Xena shouldn't have died. But she did. Whoopee, big spoiler there.

I think it could be interpreted both ways, as a close friendship OR a romantic relationship. The writers left it deliberately ambiguous like that. It all depends on the viewer.
Your Gaydar is on the blink! Even the anniversary DVD extras had cast and producers more or less admitting there was more than just friendship between them. The only reason it was never shown as anything more than hints is because of homophobic male TV executives fearing a backlash from good old (puke!) bible belt American conservatives. Of course they're lovers.

Impossible to exchange an opinion with someone who is on a crusade against what is (and has been) the truth. Can't see how you are "open" if you can't listen to the show's creators themselves about the true relationship. I am all for Shippers (grand folks) - but to say "no they weren't" matter-of-factly it shows a whole world of closemindedness on your part. Or one VERY edited version of the show in your country.

I believe and always will believe that they connected on a spiritual level. I wish this series was able to be as free as it wanted to be, Gabrielle & Xena had a very 'confusing' relatonship that in the 90's was quite the taboo, but here and now I'd like to think that they would serve as a strong example of how to be a good human being...no matter what your orientation

Well, there are many opinions about their relationship, but I truly believe that they loved each other. But hey, that's just my opinion. I think that their love for each other is definetely more than just love between friends.

Well, there are many opinions about their relationship, but I truly believe that they loved each other. But hey, that's just my opinion. I think that their love for each other is definetely more than just love between friends.
