Poor Percy! You can literally see his heart breaking at 7:57 and 9:04. How awful to find out such a horrid thing on what should be the happiest day of your life! =( However, marvelous acting. He is so incredibly talented! Love the little curl of hair on his forehead =)
Also, did anyone notice the little jeweled flower necklace he wears to the wedding and so on?
dunno why, I think Eleanor David (the actress who plays Louise) is even more suitable playing Marguerite (no offence to Jane Seymour the great beauty but that's just my humble opinion)
I am so obsessed with The Scarlet Pimpernel. (hence, my username). I was wondering if anyone has any clue where I could purchase a ring like the one Anthony wore in this movie. I've spent hours searching but I can't find it. :( it would mean a lot to me if anyone had any clue where I could find it. Thanks! :)
The way the Scarlet Pimpernel conceals his identity reminds me of the D.C. superheroes. Just like Sir Percy acting like a silly fop, Bruce Wayne acted like a drunken playboy so no one would think he might be Batman, Clark Kent acted like a nerdy weakling so no one would think of Superman and Barry Allen was always late so no one would think he was the Flash. While D.C. guys were always way more one-dimensional than Marvel guys, I always likeed their regular life identities better.
@Ramoth11 Um, not to be an arse, but the word 'prototype' means 'thing that came first that served as a model for other things.' In other words, Don Diego de la Vega was modeled after Sir Percy, which means I know who came first. Just sayin'.
Poor child. His father dead, his mother going to die. Living in a prison, poorly treated, waiting for his own death just because of his aristocratic birth. :(
@nightsong348 What's sadder is that it actually happened. They actually forced Louis to accuse his mother and his aunt of incest with him. It's not clear whether he actually came to believe it or not. Not clear to me at least...maybe someone knows.

I don't understand why they always create a romantic relationship between Marguerite and Chauvelin, there wasn't one in the novel
And why did the Baron have to tell Percy the day of his wedding, why!?

@jimbrown257
The Scarlet Pimpernel is widely considered the original precursor of modern day superheroes :)

@jimbrown257 Sir Percy was also the prototype for Zorro. Same idea. ^_^

@nightsong348 Just goes to show that the revolutionaries of the time were no better than the so called evil aristocracy they tried to purge.
