  • they got married quick lol

  • dunno why, I think Eleanor David (the actress who plays Louise) is even more suitable playing Marguerite (no offence to Jane Seymour the great beauty but that's just my humble opinion)

  • Its like Percy is the old timey Batman!!!

  • (Runs to Percy, and hugs him) Please, Percy, don't be so sad! She didn't do it!

  • "well enough..":(

  • I'm watching this for the first time, and I just love it so much. The movie is so well written.

  • I saw the priest and i just recently read The Princess Bride, so I was thinking "Mawidge, a dweam wiffin a dweam" and burst out laughing

  • The way the Scarlet Pimpernel conceals his identity reminds me of the D.C. superheroes. Just like Sir Percy acting like a silly fop, Bruce Wayne acted like a drunken playboy so no one would think he might be Batman, Clark Kent acted like a nerdy weakling so no one would think of Superman and Barry Allen was always late so no one would think he was the Flash. While D.C. guys were always way more one-dimensional than Marvel guys, I always likeed their regular life identities better.

  • @jimbrown257

The Scarlet Pimpernel is widely considered the original precursor of modern day superheroes :)

  • @jimbrown257 Sir Percy was also the prototype for Zorro. Same idea. ^_^

  • @DefenderOfEnglish The Scarlet Pimpernel SOOO came first.

  • @Ramoth11 Um, not to be an arse, but the word 'prototype' means 'thing that came first that served as a model for other things.' In other words, Don Diego de la Vega was modeled after Sir Percy, which means I know who came first. Just sayin'.

  • Please, please post the wedding dance all together! Post it separately or whatever, but please! don't cut it off like that!

An another note, this is one of the best stories of all time. Many props to you for posting it!

  • Aw breaks my heart every time I watch this scene when he says she can never be trusted. Awww...

  • Yeah Percy! Listen to Tony!

  • 3:43 shortest veil EVER!

  • 1:12 James Villiers AHOY!

  • Poor child. His father dead, his mother going to die. Living in a prison, poorly treated, waiting for his own death just because of his aristocratic birth. :(

  • @nightsong348 Just goes to show that the revolutionaries of the time were no better than the so called evil aristocracy they tried to purge.

  • @nightsong348 So much for Liberty Equality Fraternity.

  • @nightsong348 What's sadder is that it actually happened. They actually forced Louis to accuse his mother and his aunt of incest with him. It's not clear whether he actually came to believe it or not. Not clear to me at least...maybe someone knows.

  • At 9.28 look at the sadness in his eyes.

  • Thank you for uploading this!! thousands of thanks already ! :D
