...brandon couldnt sing as well in the early days of incubus as evidence i give you fungus amungus circa a long time ago...they got signed for their sound, including his voice, but not 90% because of it...singing is analogous to playing an instrument in that it requires time and lots of practice in order to fine tune the technique...go watch southpark

I think thats nonsense, I think Brandon's voice, to be honest, is kind of generic, similar to a lot of Alternative Rock that was around at the time, some of which entered the charts. He's a really competent singer, no doubt and flawless live and I like him for that reason but I wouldn't say Brandon "is" Incubus or he's 25% and the rest are all behind that. They're an altogether incredible band.

Certain songs sound better with a pick depending on the genre. Ben Kenny is the better bassist, the overused slap of dirk got tiresome, and Ben's musical tastes are better suited to incubus's music. If they were still playing the tracks on Fungus Amongus & S.C.I.E.N.C.E, I'm sure ben would be able to do equally interesting things. If you've ever listened to the Halo 2 Soundtrack songs that Incubus did, or see their jams live, Ben is quite simply incredible.

Ben's contribution to the band is so minimal it's almost negligible. Dirk was a driving force behind the band in each and every album he co-composed.

Generally, listen to songs from Fungus Amongus to Morning View and turn the bass down. You'll notice a massive hole in their music... Do the same with their two latest albums and the impact is almost unnoticeable.

Incubus will never be the same again.
