not too bad, a little Hendrixish too Stevie was Stevie though, and he was about tube amps fat strings and his style. And he used all different kinds of amps, sometimes together. This would be fine for a couple of SRV tunes in a cover band.
I'm looking forward to trying these settings out tomorrow on my Me-50. I usually use my TS-9 tubescreamer when trying to play srv, but maybe pairing it up with the me50 could help. Thanks!
This is the best SRV emulation from a pedal I've heard. Great job! All you need now is a Fender Vibratone cabinet with a Utah speaker, or a Twin amp with the single 15" Jbl. Stevie's favorite combo setup of choice. Hence, final output of "the sound".
You've done a great job with the tone. Keep in mind that SRV, Hendrix, and Trower would use a clean amp along with another slightly overdriven amp. By mixing the two, you get the fast attack of the clean and the saturated sustain of the overdriven amp. Here, you captured the sound perfectly.
@Bruce097 Thanks bruce. I think with some tweeking, it would sound decent in a mix. A lot of tones have to be heard in context in order to really hear what they sound like. Bass and drums really effect the tone of the guitar in a mix imho.
@EpiphoneGear Yep, they "Filter" out a lot of the similar frequency's which is a hassle playing live, but really just takes some time, speaker placement, levels, etc. to sort out.
@000steelandstone000 Thanks man. SRV was amazing! I loved his tone and style. Very very soulful with a voice to match a god. Im just me playing I guess. Its a blue-ish tone but yes, I am popping the distortion a little too much making it sound "moderm". SRV is a lot more laid back. Maybe when im a little more older I can play this better
Also remember to down tune a little stevie rarely played in E. That will help get that srv sound too it makes a big difference.

@rkc5150 A better clean overdrive tone is at 1:35
but, yea, tube's give a nicer overdrive tone to solid state.

hah. it does sound somewhat like him.
but it also sounds damn modern. whether that's a good thing or not, i think it's up to the individual to decide.
