@slipk23acdc go to unrevoked website. install the drivers then follow what it says. 10 minute ordeal tops. then download wifi tether for root users from market and skip this stuff. and do yourself a favor and flash a custom rom and kernel then you can over/under clock the cpu and get better battery at faster speeds!

@vanwidick can't mess up your phone by installing this or ANYTHING if not ROOTED. If you try to install an "App" that requires ROOT....it will just NOT run the Rooted App -- That's all. Don't worry about it.....

I'm not sure, but I think he's leaving out the fact that his EVO is "rooted" . If I'm not mistaken, you have to have your phone rooted for this to work. That could be why many of you are having problems.

I have a solution for you...

FROM YOUR PHONE, NOT YOUR HOME COMP.

Go to the same page where he instructed you to download the Wireless tether app.

Once on that page, click on downloads

Click on wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre9.apk to download

Now you have the appropriate version, the wireless tether will work.

Let me know how it went.
