I think you should give your friend a chance to talk with you and explain himself. He knows what he is talking about..even though you may not understand it right now and he obviously cares enough about you to share something with you that is important to him.

while i think it's all well and good for someone to try to "help" someone go to Heaven, i don't think it's right for him to be so pushy about it

Would I? According to the bible, no... according to me, heaven in terms of biblical description does not exist, but perhaps some sort of afterlife does, hopefully based upon how you live, not what 'religion' you follow... even then, I may not fare so well... time will tell...
