I really like the way Pai explains a bit of the chemistry that's going on -- helps me think in terms of the Thai juxtaposition of flavors, e.g., salty and sweet....
Wow I loved your video! I think you should have your own show. I think the food network is definitely lacking a Thai cooking show. You made the preparation so accessible and my sticky rice came out tasting very authentic. Thank you! looking forward to trying more videos of yours
Tried this for the first time and it came out great. Thanks for the recipe. It reminds me of a sticky rice recipe we have in the Philippines but we wrap it in banana leaves.
Pai, I've had this dish in the US and although I'm not sure-- do some restaurants use sweetened condensed milk mixed with coconut milk on their sticky rice?
hello, i found your video to be extremely helpful! I would like to know if it is possible to use evaporated milk instead of coconut milk for the thickened "glaze"? or any other types to experiment with. thank you.
@cutie4sxy Hmmm...that would be interesting. I have never done it, and I imagine it will lack the coconut aroma but the texture is similar. But please let me know how it goes when you do try it.
I humbly request that you make a Khao Man Gai video. I have found your videos to be very informative and helpful, and I cannot make Khao Man Gai to save my life. Please help.
Hi, love your videos. Your teaching is really good, clear and easy to understand. But just 2 comments... You talk a little too much, it would be better if you could go straight to the cooking method....
And in some video, you dont film the stuff u cook in the pans/pot..... It would be better if whoever does the filming for you could film whats the stuff in the pans/pot. Hope I dont sound rude. Cheers!!!

hei, thx for the recipe..i went to thailand a week ago and i cant take my mind of of the sticky rice with mango...i made some just now and its good.. when i had it in bangkok, the sauce was sweetish salty but urs was salty..why is it different
You explain things extreme;y well. You should have a show of your own. Try starting by doing a show on your local cable station. You are very good at what you do. .
I'm so happy that I found your channel through ifood.tv. Your instructions are so easy to follow and your English is perfect. I'll definitely try this mango sticky rice. Just wondering if you have a website or blog where I can read the recipe cuz sometimes I can't catch everything that you say on the video. Thanks and I hope you'll post more Thai cooking vids.
wow, this pretty women is actually very knowledgeable about her ingredients and cooking technique, she's not messing around here, ill stop looking at the cleavage cause she's a pro, no bull shit...
i simply thank thee god for letting me find about your channel,it is simply superb. I have added you as my friend too on Facebook if you will accept I will be honored. My husband just loves Thai food although not the other squids and stuff but the fish which he had on the street with some leaf wrapped on it and it was roasted, of course he doesn't know the recipe but he just loves it and has it whenever he is on shore.

I just used the residual heat from the steamer, I didn't turn it on. The heat at this stage is not necessary but it helps, and it keeps the rice warmer too for when you eat it! Good luck na ja. I will be posting pad thai, but not sure about pad see ew na.
Do i need to unplug the ricecooker before I put the sticky rice that have been mix with coconut milk back on the steamer? Or do i just keep the ricecooker plug and use the remaning bolier water to steam it? My sweetheart is an american and he wanted me to make some for him.
Excellent videos! I spent two years in Thailand working near Rayong (Ban Chang) and took a cooking class, it was excellent, but much was lost in translation. I am going to become a subscriber to your lessons. I am back in Canada now, and miss the Thai food. I hope to create more than just Pad Thai krup.
Interestingly I have tried using Japanese rice myself, and you're right, the flavors really are different. And the Thai rice is much chewier. Doesn't mean you can't use it. Try it, if you like it then there's nothing wrong with that!

A Cup is usually 250ml , the weight depends on the density of the ingredient.
A Cup or Iron is definitely heavier than a cup of cotton.
