  • your sqaure base, is called a PRELIMINARY base, just so ya know

  • @TufferThnUThink88 There are many names for it. The original name can not be written in this box, as I can't get Japanese characters here. Remember that for the most part, we are dealing with Japanese translations, and so the English words can not really be said to be correct or incorrect.

  • @jasmine2501 oh, ok, i see

  • little fluffy clouds lol lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its simple, but i would honestly recomend this to people who are a little more experienced because the first time you try it, it may fall apart and aggravate most beginers

  • Yeah it's tricky to get all the parts together, but once you get the last part, it stays together good.

  • hey! Nice modular! I'm really digging some of these new origami structures. (and, it's OK to sqeeze the beggars together if they don't just do the right thing....sort'a like gives it character. Plus....it's just paper, right?

    Thanx for sharing!

  • What song is this? O:

  • Little Fluffy Clouds - there are a few mixes of it out there.

  • theres no "fluffy clouds" where i live =(

  • i may be wrong, but is isn't it called Skeletal Octahedron?

  • That would be the same shape, yes. Here I'm using the name of the diagram I took it from. You can find a link to that one on my web site. I agree it's a stupid name. A Gyroscope is a spinning thingy.

  • ok hehe, i just saw a video on metacafe on how to make that, and they called it skeletal octahedron

  • clouds

  • yes you should share origami or it is un faire for peaple that cant make stuff and want to learn

  • Yes... I don't think it's worth your time to learn something if you aren't going to share it. If we all did that, all human knowledge would disappear from existence. The ability to teach our knowledge to the next generation is why we have made progress, and the monkeys are still in the trees (although some species do teach their kids learned skills).

  • totally true lol, but ppl dotn wanna share cuz the point of living for humans is to get tehedge over other humans, to suceed, other then that there is really no point in life other then spending everyday working hard and in the end you dont see the worth other then being better then some other people.

  • Actually I think the point of life is to sustain the next generation. That's what most animals are programmed to do... whatever they can to ensure the survival of the species. Art is not a competition, and when it does become one, it takes the fun out of it and it becomes a job rather than a hobby. I like to pass on my enjoyment to others, that way I get even more happiness from it.

  • Also the point of sustain the next generation is also correct, except for the fact that we have wars which slowly wipes out each person. For some people art is a competition(in competitions literally) and for them the competition is fun. But I mainly agree with you, it takes the fun out of art if you compete.

  • the point of life is bilev in god and go to heven

  • There always has to be one of these...

  • What if you learn to spell and possibly have a chance of making your point? Hmmm?

  • Where in any of your posts does it say that?

  • Huh? Say what?

  • I have to agree with Gambitzace... there are lots of people who will make cool stuff and will never help you learn (I remember a boy in 4th grade when I started who wouldn't show me one of the important steps to making the jumping frog, so I kept futzing around until I learned and then I taught practically the whole class to spite him :)) Anyways, thank you for sharing - great vid!

  • Hey I'm doing another series as well. It will be "Doggy Tricks with Akira"... part one of that is up here already. The rest we are working on now. We're about ready to do one on "sit" and "down", but I'm waiting till we know it really well, so I can show how he gets better over time.

  • I admire you for showing. very much. thanx i will always remember there are those who are selfish and will show people how to make something worthwhile. Keep at it. if you could post other videos on how to make make other molecular models and how to make them i'd be very happy. thanx a bunch i'm working on my first peacock which is over a 1000 pieces of paper. i'll just leave it at that. :P thanx

    Daniel

  • I've always thought origami is meant to be shared. I teach it to my kids when I can, and others who are interested. Somebody taught me the basics once - everyone deserves that opportunity and YouTube is a great way to give that to people.

  • good luck wit that lol, must be a hassle to make 1,000 pieces of paper even though making the paper itself is easy.
